It's a Kaiser Darrin fabulous isn't it. Yes the doors slide into the front wings.

It's quite hard to get pictures of it because there is always a crowd around it and rightly so.

That's what I was saying about the Scammell.

I got some Pics of the Telecom van but they where all out of focus.

Not surprised typical vauxhall can't even appear in a picture properly.

Dougie ( as lees uncle had several as bangers to transport his greyhounds)as the van is known is gorgeous & has most of the correct kit onboard Lee is the 4th owner it's won best HA van twice at the voba rally.

About the only thing missing is the "punch & Judy tent" which he's not sure if it would've had one.

It was in service in Sheffield & remained there once decommissioned he resorted it about 12 years go. He rescued it from being scrapped after being left in a garage for around 25 years with a seized engine.

The coracer is fake painted, it's very solid has it's original sills & 90% of it's original chassis rails. Its a gen 2dr GT & was practically a shell when I got it in the late 90's . I was going to cut the solid pieces out that normally rot ,then weigh rest in . Other stuff kept putting it off.It kept getting used as a shed until the mid teens .realising it was still very solid  I thought can't scrap this so put it back together from what was around then COVID struck so it was now road worthy but couldn't go  out!

Lightweight stuff Inc fibreglass wings aluminium skinned doors, bonnet, boot, & spoilers (gen RS front )plastic side windows. I have the Ali rear bumper but not the front/fronts ( may have had 1/4 bumpers they were never available for mk3's).

Mechanical Inc, 4 wheel discs, LSD,turreted & 6 linked rear . Boot mounted  tank etc

Unfortunately it's not powered by the injected holbay 16v  pinto  that  ford homologated in the MK3 cortina ( for the escort) & I doubt it will be getting one as the last bare head i saw forsale was circa £5k !

That Kaiser-Darrin is incredible.  I didn't even know there were any of those in the UK!
