Guest Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 I know he's been mentioned on here in the past... YAHOO.CO.UKChris Sievey - the man behind comic creation Frank Sidebottom - has died after collapsing at his home. Known for his over-sized, papier-mache head, Frank found fame through a series of TV appearances in the 1980s and remained a popular cult comedy figure. He died aged 54 after being taken to hospital from his home in Hale, Cheshire, shortly after 1am on Monday morning. He had been recovering from treatment to a tumour to his chest, his agent Nigel Round said.
trigger Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 I don't why but Frank Sidebottom always gave me the creeps, even looking at that picture above makes me feel uneasy, He was often on The Big Breakfast IIRC. Mind you rip to the creater, he did die young.
Lord Sterling Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 I only ever remember Frank Sidebottom from passing views on TV, I never really watched or knew about the character apart from a minor passing resemblance he had to Pob:
shite_meister Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Bloody hell, I really liked him. I still have a Frankie Sidebottom badge from when I was about 12.
Pete-M Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 It's like Diana all over again No, seriously. This is probably worse.
Electric Leyland Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Am genuinely gutted. No more Sidey gigs to look forward to.
vicsmith Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Oh no Frank Sidebottom was ace, it`s hard to imagine such a character occuring nowadays.
