Check out the kit - the Daf I collect on Monday evening -

the scimi needs recomming but it is in pretty good nick by the look of things - going into a specialist for a once over as she's been off the road for 3 years - check out the paedo beige interior!

GTE dashtop should be tan (as the rest of interior is tan) but the black dashtops, if straight, are very hard to find, and expensive

watch out the 'expert' doesnt try to blag it off you with the promise of a tan one in exchange

thanks for the tip - one of the reasons I went for this was the black dash - I have had tan ones on previous scimis and all have cracked horribly - I trust the chap it is going to - mate of a mate so not too worried

the car has been off the road for 3 years but has had it's chassis done and shows strong oil pressure - hopefully it should be a straightforward recomm - car only cost me £500 which I thought was a total bargain given the straight interior

looks good for the money

in my experience, bushes, brakes and maybe earths - other than that should be okay

any water leaks?

tempted to polybush the thing at the same time as getting back on the road - this may have a Kenlowe fitted but might add one anyway just in case!

apparantly the fibre timing cogs on the Essex have been done -

rare car this it's a '76 GTE SE6 - they only made a few of these before the 6a came out - I have yet to work out the difference!!

wife wants a Hermes scarf so she can drive it in a tweed suit and tell the rozzers to

"Naff Orf!" in finest royal tones!

Wow. That Scimitar looks nice. But whats paedo about a beige interior ffs!

I would love a Scimitar - there still seems to be a good few around as well. 8)

an se6 then, rather than a 6a

i think the braking system is different to the 6a - some are same bits as earlier 5a, but you will have to check everything before ordering brake parts

The more I look at Scim's the more I want one.

I don't know why, but I imagine them to be quite a laugh.

"paedo" being descriptive of that particular shade of beige rather than a slur on anyone displaying it - the colour evokes the shade of anorak worn by such individuals throughout the 70's onwards - deeply offensive I know but I think it rather consise as a description :-)

btw it is one of my favourite colours

Ah - I see where you are coming from now! Nice car that. I would love one. I reckon you get a whole lot of car for the money. 8)

yup - apparantly they may have been upgraded to the 6a brakes - we'll soon find out!

What sort of price did you get that for if you dont mind me asking. I dont have an old car at the moment and that sort of thing would be ideal for me? :)

the Scim is just north of Tilbury - need to get it collected I am going to ship it up to a chap I know in Leighton Buzz.

£500 was a total bargain - tip for you ebayers - watch ebay carefully every now and then they do a free listing day - on those days the site gets drowned in kit - usually non MOT kit - the 'i've been telling you to get rid of that for ages bung it on ebay and see what happens' some serious bargains around after those days.

I've not seen a scim anywhere near this nick for under a grand for at least a year.

Daf has an MOT tomorrow - £65 of sill welding and job done!
