Sorry Jetronic, I would have been happier if the car had gone a fellow shiter in all honesty. However, the lure of revisiting a copy of my first real motorcycle proved too much of a temptation! Plus the fact that the guy who now has the car was in desperate need of a motor for little or no cash changing hands! Having a baby due imminently can make a man do strange things!!!

 

Also weird is that he said he had been unable to get anyone to do a swap for the bike because of its age.

 

 

I never expected the bike to be as good as it is. It's really sweet Cavette, 10 months tax and test, 27000 miles. Paint is a bit ropey but all the brightwork is excellent. I'm going to seriously think about having it resprayed in white and red just like the 400E I had back in 78.

They are lovely bikes and very sought after. A fella 3 doors up from me (ec copper) bought one with some of his retirement lump sum and it's a minter. I have a photo somewhere but can't find it at the moment.

Bloody weather!

 

Well actually, despite the rain I had a quick blast up the A1 to Peterborough to see my brother and show off the bike. It runs like a dream, faster than I recall mine being but that said, I haven't ridden a bike in quite a while.

 

My brother's mate is going to be doing the respray for me. I managed to sort some genuine Yamaha red decals for a bargaintastic £20 so it's going to look the business. Also have my eyes on a set of Micron pipes but not decided on those yet.

 

Wheels are currently yellow but these will be going red with polished alloy soon as. Also having the seat recovered in red next week. Pics will follow once she is looking her best.

I know it was the right thing to do but the pangs of regret are biting me already. Still, on the plus side, I now have some proper cash to lob at my Astras.
