So I have 2 good amps now. Someone on the L322 FB page had a problem with their radio and bought a new other amp (called a BM54) but made no difference so wants to try replacing the one I did today. 

So they've offered to post me their BM54 FOC, once I've received it I'll post them my one! Unbelievably generous to the point I can barely cope with it 😂

Well, the radio box thing is on its way! Hopefully that sorts it.

I tried to replace the gel pad on the rain sensor today. However its a slightly different setup to the 75 albeit still with a BMW badge. The sensor is in 2 parts, a box and a small square with 4 light refractor type things which unclips.  However the gel pad is not designed to be removed from that bit and I ended up fucking it up as I thought it would be a good idea to try and soften it with a heat gun. I ended up warping it so it no longer clipped back into the box. So thats a bump. 

Helpfully though, with the sensor unplugged, I now have normal intermittent wipe albeit  now variable. So that'll do. Im not fuxking about with it any more as I dont want to crack the windscreen.

So there are about 5 modules in the radio paraphernalia. I have replaced all but the actual screen itself and for £15 I though it was worth a go.

Some* disassembly required:

Really easy actually, mostly t20/30 Torx and whoever has been here before hadn't overtightened or fucked up anything which has been a nice theme with this car.

Anyway, still no change to the screen cutting out after 5 seconds and the sound lasting 3 to 5 minutes. Ive got used to singing/humming now anyway so I cant say I'm really bothered.  Such is old Land Rover life!

I also lost a T20 to the right hand heater vent void and found one that the last person who's been here must have lost inside the left hand side 😂

Still going well.

So its all good!
