2cv6 rescue mission?

Hi everyone,My Mum only ever drove 2cvs until she got married, and she still owns her third 2cv, but it has sat for over 10 years now in a garage unortunately. We have all wanted to get it back and get it on the road for a long time now, but we have no cars with a tow bar (and parents refuse to fit a tow bar to either car) and no other means of bringing the car home, plus its not really a high priority for my parents unfortunately :( but I had a look at the car last time us up where its garaged and its not lookin too good. plenty of rust and big holes in the floor so Im aware that we need to save it SOON. I plan to make room in the garage for the car and have everything ready for it to be brought back very soon, we just need a way to get it back! I have been looking at paying a company to transport the car and although not too expensive, I thought id see on here if anyone had a transporter of any sort and would be willing to help out with the rescue of the 2cv? the car is located near Norwich, and we are located new newmarket, suffolk, which is a roughly 70 mile trip.If anyone on here would be able to give me a hand with bringing Mums car home, it would be hugely appreciated!! so if you could pm or something and let me know how much roughly you would charge maybe? and I can PM you more details of the route? Will get pics up as soon as the cars back! :)thanks everyone, I know its asking a lot, Dan

If no-one on here can help it'd probably be worth your while joining OvalChat (banger forum) as there are loads of racers down your way and most of them will have a transporter. I bet someone will do it for a decent rate.

Not sure if you've already looked at it, but a website called Shiply lets you advertise the vehicle you want moved and recieve offers from transporters. It takes a few days to get interest, but sometimes you'll get offers that are way under budget as they do it basically to get your business, in case you move more cars. Often it can be around £1 a mile but if you have time it may be worth trying just to see. There's no obligation to accept any of the offers made. Just be aware that Shiply charge you £4.99 if you do accept a bid from someone. If you don't accept a bid there's no charge, and your listing lasts around 7-10 days.Good luck :)

I think ive heard of them before, or a similar concept at least, but Id kinda like to see if someone who appreciates things like this a bit more than just the lowest bidder, but i know, beggars and choosers and all that!

I live slap bang between Norwich and Newmarket, but unfortunately I'm out the country for a few months. Definitely do the Shiply thing - I recently moved my car from home to just north of Norwich and it cost £65. Don't be surprised if something like this turns up though
