Very nice! I do remember these when they were new. VW much better answer to the Capri. Always wondered why Ford never developed a follow on model.

One of the best sounding engines of all time, but having experienced how much they ruin the handling of a mk2 golf, I dread to think what it'd do to a Scirocco.

That's a big lump in front of the axle line.

Thought the point of them was they weren't that heavy compared to other 6's

Blue one looks lovely ! I rejuvenated this one after it came into my hands from a widow when my Vicar brother did a guys funeral, drove really well after a LOT of fecking about with the Pierberg carb .  It went to live in Scotland with a lovely young couple who were committed Scirocco fans

That looks lovely! Any update on other cars in the fleet?!

Hope the move back over to Scotland is going well.

Hey mate - let’s just say my first winter back has been a wee bit of a shock to the system! The Cooper has been tucked up in a friends garage since September. Had the Capri out on its first run the other week under its new identity!

My old 2.8 VR6 engined mk2 was a riot to drive. I still really miss that car, along with the glorious soundtrack.

It's still an extra 50-60kg (iirc) right out front compared to an ABF or similar.
