FOR SALE: MG Metro

It is with regret that I am selling my MG Metro: http://www.metroownersclub.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3202#p18785. I just don't have the time to use it as much as it needs.

It is a very solid little car and has been great fun to drive, I really want to see it go to a good home.

 

-Bodywork generally solid all round.

-Interior in great condition, apart from non original steering wheel.

-Appears to have been waxoyled from new.

-Rust spots on the front and rear valances and on guttering.

-Alloy wheels in good condition.

-Offside front wing painted badly and in wrong colour, will supply replacement decal for this panel.

-Dented rear bumper, will supply new replacement.

 

Recently someone attempted to steal it (see http://www.metroownersclub.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=6360) the steering wheel was wrecked (now replaced with grey mini one) and the column was bent (has been pulled back into shape). The drivers side lock was knocked into the door - I will get this sorted before sale.

 

Apologies for the stupid pictures, I will upload some better ones this week!

 

MOT runs out next month, I will get it passed before sale.

Always fancied a Mk1 Mg Metty. How does the car drive and what's it like mechanically mate?

Mechanically sound as a pound. Just the usual a-series thing of requiring a ton of choke to start when its been sitting around.Has had a new exhaust manifold.Engine doesn't leak oil everywhere, which is unusual for an a-series!

Id have loved that! - got a strange longing for early Metros recently, and my first car was a D reg MG Metro (sadly it rotted to bits).
