I've owned 17 cars between 83-89 , unfortunately after that was a company car man , now van man.

I've forgot 2 but here's the list I do remember, apart from the 205 which was bought new (big mistake) all the others cost less than a grand, usually as the were in distress.

As far as I'm aware only the mgb still exists HSS 755N

The Mexico ,I scrapped keeping the engine , after market alloys , steering wheel and sunroof.

1976 Renault 5

1978 Colt lancer 1.4 4dr

1984 Peugeot 205 1.8d 5dr

1975 mgb gt

1978 Chrysler Alpine

Was the Colt the one with hi and low range gearbox?

Do you have any pictures of any of them?

Yup , some of the ratios duplicated so there was about 6 usable gears , I had a green one like the photo, it was bought from John Clark ( has a bit of an empire up here) as a trade sale ,he used it for his holiday car in Spain so had lhd headlights , his mechanics nicknamed it kermit.
As for photos only got for the Fuego & Acclaim I will try and up load, film was dear so back in the day cars only appeared in the background when filming family and friends .b2b00233bf47110e7403a4e269a49d91.jpg

I had LHD turbo one bought in Germany by a friend who blew up the turbo then another turbo then drove it to the UK, parked it by my flat, pushed the keys through my letter box  and got on a plane back home.

Good for handbrake turns and spinnin wheels in 8 gears in the snow.

I had a yellow Colt 1400 GLX in the early 90s.

Quite tidy all things considered and very nippy.

No rear bumper, just a huge, ugly tow bar. God only knows what the previous owner towed with it!

RDD 588W was the plate. Sold it through the local paper for £75 after the clutch went  😕

Nice! Mine was the slightly facelifted version on a Y plate. Rapid old thing at the time, especially with the John Connor gearbox setup...
