Just some random scanning

By odd coincidence nearly all of these are Ford related, not surprising as at the mo I have a WANT for an 80s Ford of some description.

Nice cover from Autocar in 1987, comparing the Cossie with the ultimate medallion man chariot, the Tickford Capri:

And at the other end of the spectrum, rare spot of the almost mythical povvo grey grille base Sierra:

Here's and oddball; Mk2 Fiesta cabrio, not seen one of these before, only the Mk1 Fly. The one in the little photos is a Popular Plus

Orion 1600E brochure. Mmmmm, I would love one of these. I remember sitting in one as a kid at the '88 motor show, I've liked them ever since:

Ford Probe III which led to the Sierra. I love this, it's what "Future Cars" look like in 80s movies. I always thought it was gold however so maybe the pic has been retouched :?

How's this for a crap Limited Edition? Capri 1.3 Cameo. The ad men had their work cut out with this:

1998 seems ages ago now. I think this is the first brochure for the Focus, I don't think I've seen an S-reg for a while, I suppose like any car of this type they are very disposable. One to squirrel away?

Brief other makes interlude with the oddball Saab 90 from 1984. 99 front with 900 rear, steelies and '80s feel makes for a nice combination however:

This caught my eye from the same 1987 issue of Autocar as the Cosworth feature above. It's a small pic of an Alfa Spider concept shown at Turin in 1985. That's a full ten years before the Spider and GTV went on sale isn't it??? Look how similar it is though

And finally some 1980s ICE for your listening pleasure:

Nice one, I also have a serious wanton desire for a black mk1 Cosworth.I like the BMW Hartge E30 ad too, they made some very desirable alternatives to Alpinas.

Thanks for uploading them pictures !That has just brought home how much of an "old school ford" fan i amAnd the scan of the ICE = Fantastic :D Thanks for sharing

Bloody Hell, that takes me back.

That was the first decent radio I bought myself. £99 from Halfords, it was the only sub-£100 set with digital tuning back then.

A very good piece of kit that found a home in a long succession of my cars.

I think I've still got it in the garage so tomorrow is 'hunting' day :)

I remember a Fiesta Mk2 cabriolet which I used to see circa 1988. One day I grazed the bumper of it when I was parking my Cherry N10, and the plastic endcap fell off it  Nice scans Mash. I've just spent an hour or two sorting old magazines and seeing lots of similar stuff.

I love the scans, cheers Mash. Id like to see a 1600E Orion, wonder how many are left?Blimey the Cossie lasted 3 years! No prizes for guessing what happened to it........

I'd opt for one of those stereos over the shite Explod Halfords ones you get today. Why don't they make the fronts grey/black with a single led to match the rest of the car?

You're not the only one with a want for some '80's Ford action. Once I (hopefully) move house I'm quite fancying some sort of Escort or such like.Excellent scans anyway, early Focus would be one to find a good one and keep I think.

Now to power it up and see if it still works !!

And today's bonus ball was.........

Posted Image

........rediscovering my old boombox/ghetto blaster (Sharp GF-555) that I had new in the late '70's.

Plugged it in, it still works but one speaker seems a bit muted so the covers are coming off this week.

I`d heard about the Capri Cameo, but never seen a shot of the interior before, it actually looks a lot nicer inside than I thought it would, at least the seats seem to be made out of nice velour.

wow I'd love a ProbeIII... :)

I don't suppose it would be that hard to make one....

Worth a mint these days! I sold one in similar nick for 150 clams not so long ago. Do have regret tho - feature packed monster!

I had one of those Goodmans stereos too along with the shelf speakers as they kind of matched the A frame headrests in my 86 Mk4 Escort Popular.
