Remember this?

This Mk3 Z-car sat in a driveway on the A449 Ledbury Road at Wick, Worcester for a good 20+ years. I've driven past it literally hundreds of times over the years.

Well this week, it disappeared.

I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions from the DVLA check I did.

The enquiry is complete

The vehicle details for EVJ 719C are:

Date of Liability 01 02 2011

Date of First Registration 12 02 1984

Year of Manufacture 1965

Cylinder Capacity (cc) 2553CC

CO2 Emissions Not Available

Fuel Type Petrol

Export Marker Not Applicable

Vehicle Status Licence Not Due

Vehicle Colour GREY

I grew up in Malvern, a few miles away. The Zeph's been there since I was about 15, so that's nearer 30 years!

Inevitable it would disappear eventually, I suppose, but still a shame.

Been some campanology going on I think..... Either that, or I would really like to speak to the restorers!

Maybe it just needed the tyres pumping up, a new taillight lens, quick blast at the jetwash and it flew through its MOT and is back on the road.

All very odd. If it's been stood there 30 years plus, i.e. since the late 70's.... but the date of first registration isn't until 1984.... and the reg deffo corresponds to a zephyr...

Good point. Export/import? Forces use for 20 years?

There is one other possibility, that it was ringered years and years ago and as a result there are tow of them I realise the chances are practically zero but you never know!m0rris

The reg could have been transferred legitimately (in 1984, say) to an imported Zephyr and the 'original' one parked up but the old plates never removed. Possibly?

If so it would say

Vehicle Status SORN Not Due.

Is it possible it's somehow aquired an Mot in order to qualify for scrappage?

Lovely garden ornament, but well beyond saving. It probably snapped like a twig when they tried putting it on a low-loader
