Nice pics! I've just got back from that way as it happens, Norwich via Colchester, Ipswich, Diss etc in the A35! Didn't see much tat, but I did see a fairly tidy looking W reg Granada for sale at a garage in Suffolk, do you want the details?

Loving that A35 8)8)

Norwich to Ipswich avoiding the A140 is a great drive. B1113 and B1115. The A140, however, is awful.

The A140 is a shit road, 30, 50, 30, 40, 50, 30 etc and then you'll get stuck behind a lorry and end up wanting to kill someone.

I think i saw that Granny when i took the Amazon a test drive in Eye, It was parked on the grass outside a garage on the Suffolk/Norfolk boarder IIRC.

Yeah that's the one. I think it might be an ex-funeral car. Behind the garage was a yard with some old tat in, Peugeot 405, Leyland Mini, P6 etc.

I did take the A140, it's not too bad a drive in such an old car as the only things that really hold you up are tractors!

This weekend i went to the Ford show at Battlesbridge antiques centre which is near Sa'fend in Essex, the home of Ford.

For the last 10 years or more I've been talking about going to this show but for some reason i never seem to go until yesterday, Glad i did because there something for every Ford nut!, even an autojumble.

The full set is here though i will end up posting more the photos to here! http://www.flickr.com/photos/triggersca ... 897524685/

As there was so much I'm going to try and post the photos in model order for a change...

Early 1300 GL.

Now for the other Ford stuff!.

Posted Image

Posted Image

This Corsair V4 was for sale for £2000, It had only 78k and was in great condtition, If it wasn't for the fact I'd just spend my car classic fund on my Bora I'd had bought this.

Posted Image

Posted Image

This Zodiac wasn't been on the road since 1977, The bodywork was still very good but needed a repaint really.

Posted Image

This was in my spotted thread the other day, Lovely isn't it.

Posted Image

I really want to ask the owner why he was in a neck collar, Maybe from some high speed police chase?.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

A young lad owns this, He must be well cool with the ladies.

Posted Image

The owner wanted £2400 for this, I'm guessing it's a Mustang, I can see Hirst driving this.

Great pics as always Trig. That Y-Reg Sierra GL is the stuff I dream about every night... If it were mine I'd ditch the aftermarket alloys & reinstate the original wheeltrims methinks.

Oh, & 2.3 engines were only available in GL & Ghia trim at launch

I'm liking that R19 in the car park too.

Guessing it's a Mustang? Tut tut sir... it's a Ford Thunderbird, a development of the one used by James Bond in Licence To Kill. This one's a bit later, 94 if the plate fits. So yes, looks like just the job for my brother Hirst! :D

So much to love in those pics, thank you for posting them. That blue Tranny Mk1, just how I remember them! And what a lovely selection of Granadas. I could go on and on, but let's just say, you really should have bought the Corsair....

I know, I know!, It is a lovely colour as well, What are the V4's like to drive?, I've never been to sure about the styling of the Corsair but i think it's growing on me plus they are much more affordable then a MK 1 Cortina of that era.

The thing is, i do have the money in my savings but i don't really want to break into it until i get my cheque for my crash, Decisions decisions!

Many years ago I had a 2000E, 2 litre V4. I remember it as very torquey, lovely soft ride, but prone to lifting the front end at speed. My dad said the same about the 1500 he had from new in 64, so I reckon that was faulty aerodynamics more than anything else. I'd certainly have another, and I have found two over here...

I think you might find that colour is called Saluki Bronze, from memory... wouldn't be my choice but I do remember it being popular at the time.

GR8 pics Trig, as always. Predictably I recognise a few of the cars there, the MK2 Cortina "police car" UHJ 930H lives near me, that has Lotus style green stripes under the police stickers. I nearly bought a P6 of the geezer with the V8 Pilot police car and the neck brace once! (but it needed a respray so I walked away).

Oh and btw, that locally-registered beige Ambassador is OMG! Where has that been hiding?

Superb pics, that looks like a great show. Far too much good stuff to pick a favourite. Did the Police REALLY use Mk 1 Lotus Cortinas? And please tell me that Mk 1 Escort is a work in progress, and not some deliberate rat-look disaster. Oh, and : What, no Anglias?!!
