I'm such a twat!

Sometimes I despair at my own lack of skills.I noticed this morning that there was a small pool on the tarmac, directly below the thermostat housing on my Sierra. Sure enough, the coolant level had dropped a small amount so I thought I'd try and nip up the three 8mm bolts in the housing, since I'd recently replaced the thermostat after finally finding the right version for a 1.8 CVH.The inevitable happened and the bottom bolt has snapped. Thing is, I've no idea where to look for a replacement. IIRC the thread length is around 30mm, thread diameter 5mm and the bolt head is 8mm. Does anyone have any advice on where best to find a replacement? Scrappers would be a good bet but Sierras and their ilk are getting thin, certainly round here.I reckon anyone breaking one on Ebay wouldn't be bothered in supplying some bolts and I'm just plain bewildered by the variations of bolts available from suppliers and don't hold much hope for finding a new replacement of what is probably a Ford specific item. Would dealers just laugh me out the showroom?I know this is an inane question but any advice is much appreciated, since I don't really want to use it like it is and anything other than local trips in the Imp get a bit tiring.

If you can find an actual shop take one of the remaining bolts with you and compaire them. Did you clean up the two mating faces and/or use any kind of gasket or sealant ? I didn't and wasted a load of lovely Fuchs colant :(

Try a Ford dealer. We used to snap loads of em. Failing that, a local motor factor should sort you out ok.

We've got one of the big B&Q Warehouse set-ups local to us and they've got a great range of fastenings in the hardware section.

Try eBay, that's where I get my bolts from. Sounds like you need either an M5x30 or M6x30 thread.

There's a motorcycle spares shop near me I have used for unidentified bolts. The guy there measures my damaged one and sells individual replacements.
