Also what are the little switches underneath the headlights for?

They're for levelling the headlights to compensate for load. Most 1970s Renaults seemed to have them, I'm sure there would be some on the R15 too.

WRONG! On R4 they are for changing headlights from dipping to left to right if you are driving on t'other side of t'road in France like.

At least I'm fairly sure they are...

the r15 does'nt have the headlamp things .GreAt to me yer all.i was lucky to get home as me water pump was mega blocked plus it stalled on the way down to the bottom of the muti car park

tar petei thinks i've might have cooked the r15 engine. as it was running hot on sunday. the pump was blocked solid . cleaned it out and now the pump bodys a leaking plus the engines running lean and lumpy at low reves. if not done by the nexts meet. might try and seek down in the econoline pickup if the meets at the cheshire lounge
