If someone knocks over and kills a deer that has run into the road, I know they can not claim the animal, but can anyone else claim it for the meat?

Yes! As ;long as you didn't knock it over, you can have it

Have you killed Bambi?

Couldn't you turn round up the road and come back and go "oh dear (no pun intended) what a shame someone's knocked over this poor little deer. Oh well, seems a shame to waste it..."

A colleauge once drove round a country bend and there was a cow in the road. It destroyed the Sierra he was in and he was lucky not to be destroyed himself......the cow became rib-eye.

I think it's dogs and upwards that have to be reported with the constabulary.

Anything less than a dog, such as a cat, it's a case of fuck em

I'll repeat that I think

Yes, you have to report it and as far as I know if you hit the deer you can't take it off to stick in the freezer. But someone immediately behind you can...

Funnily enough someone hit a stag near here the other day. Made the news because there were half a dozen police cars chasing him at the time. I don't know what happened next, but a lot of the police here are keen huntsmen. PS they lost the driver and passengers who ran off into the forest, was that because the police were argueing about who got the venison ?
