HI

Akron, do you still have D701 swl (an Oxford registered blue v8 110 stationwaggon brought from Oxford Hartwells) This was the 2nd brand new landrover which my dad bought for my mums birthday.

My Dad was so impressed he went out and bought a 110 V8 brand new (D701 SWL).

I suspect you might be brothers.

Hi

The railshite in the sidings at Doncaster are class 08 - result of a mispent youth hanging around the end of the platform at Crewe in a kagoul. I lost interest when most of the proper trains were scrapped and hermetically sealed coffins on wheels became the norm (and I discovered lager and the opposite sex).

I've got a '70 series 2a Landy and a '64 also!

Cheers Ed

I love the way you've yellowed up your lights, presumably in homage to going to France in the olden days.

I'm going to do that next time I cross the channel I think.

Oh, and LOL at HillmanImp!

:) I got some stick on, film type yellow light covers when we went over for a French series gathering in 2009, I thought they looked great (even better at night)...

Then my mate Ed from Guernsey arrived with some proper 60s clip-on covers!! I'd love to find a set of these.

The Stage One V8 we took over at the start of this thread should be fully re-furbed by July and I'm hoping to fly down to co-drive it back with my friend, who is going to do a bit of a UK tour before heading back.

I got mine off Malty.. I have some smaller ones somewhere too. Ideal for Capri, Stag, Rover 2000, Princess etc.

Hi, I've just inherited a BRAND NEW Landroved D701SWl off my dad who has just died

Posted

My Land Rovers were BRAND NEW! One in 1961, the other in 1970. Neither were ever owned by my Father, but one may have been driven by him in Cyprus. But it might not have. Neither have ever been to Oxford. As far as I know, anyway. Can I change my name now please?

Wow!

My dad just called me, apparently he is going to buy a brand new land rover, but it must be specifically one registered D701SWL.

Can anyone help?
