Mr_Bo11ox Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 http://www.leboncoin.fr/voitures/158294025.htm?ca=12_s Hmm, good luck finding a set of glass for that!!! €1000
Mr_Bo11ox Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 http://www.leboncoin.fr/voitures/158284533.htm?ca=12_s 1-owner early 505 with 40k on, 680 Euro. Its an 'STi' as well! 'How are you doing with that STi of yours?' 'Still battling on with it sadly'
Mr_Bo11ox Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 I can't tell you how much i would like this, its only 500€ and would A-frame home i reckon, not too heavy. But, where the f**k would you get a windscreen? I cannot think of a more difficult 'car part challenge'. http://www.leboncoin.fr/voitures/87970496.htm?ca=12_s

Lankytim Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 I think there's places that make windscreens to order. Someone in PC mag had one made for a Cadillac a few years ago for not too much dough.

Pilkington will make one-off windscreens to order. I had one done for my Audi 200 as nobody had them ins stock, with the correct tint and sun-strip for £150, which was very reasonable.
Mr_Bo11ox Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Thats quite interesting. I suspect they would have had a pattern for it though? I.e. a design would already exist for it? I supose a design must exist for the Autobianchi screen as well like.

Guest Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 I suspect that BMW would be ideal for selling drugs from (about 10-15 years ago).
Negative Creep Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Looks like a pretty poor paint match on the doors. However that doesn't stop me having the horn for it

Richard Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 I've a feeling one of those featured in a 1970s Observers book, there was certainly something with eight doors.

Richard Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 I was thinking that, is it a badge-engineered 128?

I personally love it mate. Seriously one of my favourate cars posted on this thread. I remember my Grandad giving my dad a boxed 20 year old emergency windscreen repair kit- about 20 years ago. If I remember correctly it was just a huge sheet of clear plastic. If you promise to drive her home you can borrow it Oh and +2 on the 128 thing. Which should make sourcing a 'real' screen a shite-slight easier.
HereHareHere Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Serbia, of course, is the (distant) motherland of 128 derivatives: http://www.polovniautomobili.com/putnic ... edRegion=0
wuvvum Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Don't want to piddle on anyone's parade, but according to Wikipedia the A111 is larger than the 128 - the standard engine is a 1.4 from the 124. I still think you should buy it though Bo11ox - it's well worth spending a few quid on to get a custom screen made up.
Espacetic Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 The shell was also 124, so wouldn't a Lada screen fit?
Mr_Bo11ox Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Its not a 124 shell, its much smaller and FWD for a start
Inspector Morose Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 I can't think of a better car to buy right now:http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1997-SAAB-900-S-B ... 0593834603We know these are not as good the old ones, but heck you'll feel pretty pleased with yourself come the spring Did just that Pog. Got to say for all it's faults, it's got one of the hottest heaters I've ever had in a car! Plenty to go wrong though with the added problem of scuttle cracking and many electrical problems can only be reset using tech2 software(like the resetting of the roof motors as they've gone out of sync and switching off the srs light ) Good enough for me to waft around for the winter though.
Espacetic Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 A111 overall width 63, 124 width 64. Still possibly same screen.
trigger Posted December 5, 2010 Author Posted December 5, 2010 I'd like to see some photos of that interior on the A111 before i bought it with all that rain water over it and no screen to keep it dry.
trigger Posted December 5, 2010 Author Posted December 5, 2010 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1984-FORD-SIERRA- ... 3f0581b72e A Rover V8 powered Sierra i bet would tickles Pete_M's fancy but I'm not keen on that dodgy looking Rover Autobox fitment and this sounds iffy as well... The reason for sale is that i have to give up my garage and my mechanic has decided he wants to immigrate, and i only trust him with my jobs So does that mean it's so bad that his mechanic feels the need to escape from the country just to get away from it?.
