The yellow sticker says "police have attended", this road is used as a hillclimb course by the local car club so its perfect for Sat night races.

4wd Subaru with a spacesaver on the front :)

Anyone else spotted the space saver on the N/S front?

Well Stuno mentioned it  I didn't realise the big bore tailpipes on these were attached to such weedy exhausts.

It's a bit worrying how many people put spacesavers at the front end of front wheel drive cars - I guess the effects of braking and steering on a tiny 135 section space saver are almost as bad in AWD/RWD cars too.

That might well have caused it. If the wheels of a 4x4 rotate at different speeds the transmission will 'wind up' and it can lock solid  . I'm not sure of the exact way that this happens, perhaps someone can go into greater detail.BTW I believe this can even happen with different tread depths on the same axle.

Also the other three look similar to Eagle F1's etc. and they are all on the wrong way as they are directional?

Doesn't that only happen on part-time systems with no central diff? In a full-time 4wd application there will be some kind of mechanism in the centre (either a diff or a viscous coupling or, these days, some kind of electronic gizmo) to allow front & rear axles to rotate at different speeds, as required for turning corners for example. Side-to-side differences in tyre size should be well within the capabilities of front and rear diffs to compensate for, unless you've got your diff locks engaged (which I don't think Prezzas are equipped with).Wasn't there a 6-wheel-drive amphibious armoured car (made by Alvis iirc) which had no differentials anywhere in the drivetrain? If you were driving it on metalled roads you had to bounce it off the kerb / verge every few miles to allow the transmission to unwind.

Doesn't the tread depth thing kill early Cavalier 4x4s, i'm sure this was mentioned on here a while back. dont really understand it all myself.

The scooby tyres ARE directional, but remember you're looking at it from underneath.................
