As per title i am looking for a small diesel engine i was going to go two cylinder lawnmower type but the price is way overboard for anything to do with garden machinery.I was thinking pug 106 but surely something smaller might be available i have been racking my brains but just cant think off a small engined oil burner for the life off me

Ah now that might be the way to go but do they have fly by wire throttle control as i want simple wireing as it will be standing outside.I would have used the cavi engine ive got but the last one i lifted out was a heavy old lump and when its fitted to a trailer it would make manouvering a bit awkward. Its for a logsplitter that im makeing as the one ive already got is powered by the compact tractor we have at work which is going the journey and the new Kubota will not power it from its own hydraulics.I have tried a stationary petrol engine that was 5 horse but it wouldnt pull the skin off a rice pud.

For the Vauxhall pre-ECU shit things, you need a pre-1995 or thereabouts. If it has 2 auxiliary belts you're ok, if it's a flat Poly-V jobbie then you're screwed. No AFM's or ECU's on the early stuff. I know, I had one that I flogged to greenvanman, and he recently offered for sale on here..... 1.7 Turdo aswell.... Flier too.. I DO miss the old heap. Sweaty Betty where are you?

Kubota - Aixam/Microcar etc etc

Aixam Crossline/A-series (berlina quadricycle): crossline (diesel or gasoline, top speed 45 or 93 km/h), A-721 (diesel, 45 km/h), A-741 (diesel, 95 km/h), A-751 (diesel, 78 km/h).

could be worth looking into :)

1.4 TUD was found in the Citroen AX, early Peugeot 106 and possibly some Rover Metros.

Defo Rover Metros - an ex of mine had one. God it was boring.
