Bought one of these before Christmas. It arrived today and we've already been and fitted it into my brother in law's Beetle.

Sounds really good and can play from USB device or SD Memory Card.

I thought this was going to be about one of those CLASS period-look Becker Mexico units, they are the badger's clunge of radios. They are also £1000 mind. I can't see me fitting one of those £20 jobs in anything any time soon.

If it's just an MP3 and radio then it's understandable it being dirt cheap as there's no CD player gubbing to bump the cost up. Looks like a great idea for old motors where you don't want to hack the dash up. Might get one for my van.

I can't get on with "convenient" car radio formats where you can change track at the push of a button. The idea is fantastic, but the reality is that I end up flicking through all the tracks every few minutes because I can't make up my sodding mind. I went from tape to Minidisc and back to tape again due to this scenario, I was just finding it too distracting - finger on the button constantly, blip blip blip blip!

Cassettes provide just enough inconvenience to make them the ideal car format for me - if there's a track I really don't like I can go to the bother of fast forwarding past it, but with the messing around it takes, it's not something to be undertaken lightly. And actually changing tapes requires all kinds of logistics, especially if you want a particular one (moreso in the dark).

Nice price, I still think it looks too modern for my liking.

That looks quite decent. I like the idea of having some amplifier-type device I can just plug a memory stick thing into rather than a CD which always seems to skip on the roads round here.

Does it have a 3.5mm headphone cable socket so that I can plug my portable Minidisc into it?

If its too modern looking, just stick a grandfather clock in front of it, or a washboard, paraffin lamp, or summat

I've heard one of these and it was pretty bad even through half decent speakers, nowhere near as good as the £40 Aldi job I've been using for the past few years.

Does anyone know of a black one that has two knobs on either end without the millions of red/blue/pink flashing LEDs. I hate these things, and just want a normal one.

I love those radios that do a sort of spangly electronic 'dance' with various text/graphic items dancing about and sliding off the screen, exploding, jumbling themselves up then rearranging themselves into a new word etc etc etc while you are driving around, sitting at the lights etc. I often wonder how, the people who have to design and configure these snazzy grafix, actually know when they have 'completed' a new design. They make me think of when you give a small child a toy with some flashing coloured lights on and it stops crying or whatever and just stares intently at the lights, smiling a bit, for long periods of time. I presume that these radios try to emulate this effect with adults.

I've got a CD changer in the Brava but am now more often than not using one of those cassettes with a wire headphone jack on it so I can plug my zen or portable DAB radio in. Works a treat. The cassette only cost £1.50 including postage on Fleabay. It also means I can listen to my Zen or digi radio through the 'Sparkomatic Dallas' that's fitted to the Panda 45CL :D:D

It sounds pretty good, I've wired the mp3 lead directly to the little amp in it. I only sounds rubbish if you try listening to a tape. This solution is 100 better than one of them fuzzy tape adaptor things.
