It was in my Photobucket. I pass it quite often but I never have my camera handy so I did a screengrab for the Google Streetview thread.

And some twat who thinks he's Richard Hammond

That car pops up a bit on web discussions with people asking if it is Hammond's car. It usually lives up near Aberdeen apparently.

That thing at Aberdeen docks looks like a low spec Kia Soul?

What the.....?NAK3D surely must be a pretty valuable plate! And the reg on that Sirroco is a bit dodgy isnt it?

Oh i thought the Scirocco had been discontinued at that point in time, didnt realise they made it until 1992.The same body shape for 10 years is pretty impressive.

Aye Toyota Starlets are really offensive, I hate that kink on the side windows, and, er.....

Posted

They get on my tits, they're just completely uninteresting IMO.

Why are Toyotas (and most everyday Japanese cars) considered exceptionally uninteresting by some? How is it any less interesting than the European competitors? They are reasonably rare, which makes a Starlet more interesting than a Corsa or Fiesta.

Posted

Don't get me wrong, I like the earlier Starlets (not those horrible grey import types mind), but that particular model hasn't ever grown on me, and I personally think the Fiesta of that period aesthetically has a lot more going for it.

I quite like all of the Starlets, they're pretty much no-nonsense run-arounds which is what we need more of. I do think there is some substance to the Toyota = boring thing though, particularly with their current line-up until the FT86 comes out.
