Richard Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Shit! I did wonder if shaving 100k off that Alfetta was a bit much.
Mr Lobster Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Up until 11.45 last night playing this. Sadly I have to get up at 5.45 to get to work so this morning I'm a bit tired. Still, more of the same tonight I expect
Fat_Pirate Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Check out my collection of landmarks: (I bought a dual-core CPU for this?!)
Guest Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Interesting if you pick one of the other car lots - I chose the middle one (A1 Cars) for a change and there's a number of differences. Customers are now referred to as "punters" rather than "mugs" and the type of stock available is a lot more classy!Currently my pitch includes a BMW 316, 528i and a Daimler VDP! Style and class.
Mr Lobster Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 I tried the 'Elite' pitch and found that as well. Punters become 'prospects' and you get offered a better class of p/x and auction cars again.
warren t claim Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Now all my stock has caught fire!!! dugong 1
warren t claim Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 I'm glad it's only one point per tyre in 1986 or I would of been banned by now!
RedSparrow Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 A trip to me dads house resulted in me unearthing the motherlode! Sadly the Speccy doesn't want to work atm, so I will have to delay playing one of the wicked sounding games on here: If you can't see the text, the one that caught my eye is 'Advanced lawnmower simulator'.
warren t claim Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 Is that an Atari ST next to the speccy?
RedSparrow Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 Is that an Atari ST next to the speccy?Nah 'tis a Commodore 64. Still works as well as the day it was bought, as does the Casette player. Really reliable machines.
pandamonium Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 addicted now. Grrr, can't shift my Audi 90.
FredTransit Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 I have stockpiled several Mk2 escorts which i am not selling. i am going to keep them in the back of the lockup until 2008 and then flog them to a bunch of overpaid accountants in the middle of a midlife crisis that want a decent shell to spend squillions on for 'My rally replica, okay ya'.I would be with you on this, if I could work out how to download the thing and play!

254575 Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 CHEAT ALERTif you offer the mug/punter/prospect a car and they dont like it (test drive, interior, colour), but ask for another recommendation. keep offering the same car, they will eventually take it.
Mr Lobster Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Thanks for that! Now I might be able to finally shift the Peugeot 104 and BMW 528i that are stuck to the forecourt.

Just keep badgering the customer until they buy what you want them to buy. I had ten goes at selling a Sierra last night. :DIf the buyer "doesn't want one of these" I think it's final though.
warren t claim Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 I'm playing this now. Surely someone here must know how to update this?
barrett Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 I should've paid attention when you guys said this was addictive! I just phoned my GF and told her i'm not gonna be coming over tonight.... First week of trading was great, I sold all my stock, then it went a bit slow but now it's picking up again... nowhere near making a profit though!
pogweasel Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 I should've paid attention when you guys said this was addictive! I just phoned my GF and told her i'm not gonna be coming over tonight.... Dear Barratt,Dishappointed you could not come over tonight. I guess your 1980'sch computer gamesh are more important. CortinaDave Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 I just got foreclosed by the bank. Bugger! I hit Enter too quickly and failed to spot that instead of agreeing to reduce the price of a merc I had to £8500 to close the deal, i accidentally reduced it to £85. A bloke then came in looking for a lotus esprit - I tried to offload a nice Chevette L onto him instead but he wasnt biting, and the bank pulled the plug
warren t claim Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 One of the few problems with the game is the punters inflexable attitude to what car they want. Adding the option to lob the odd car back into auction to raise a few quid would of been a nice feature as well.

Negative Creep Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Sorry but I just couldn't get into it. Must be a generational thing as I can't really relate to the Spectrum/C64/Amiga games. Give me a SNES* or PS1 any day as in terms of sheer playability that was almost as good as it got. Much the same way there are very few pre 1975 cars that really interest me as they were what was around when I was growing up *the SNES is the greatest gaming system ever created. If you disagree with this, you are wrong. mouseflakes 1
CortinaDave Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 You can't really call somebody inflexible for rejecting a Chevette L when he asked for a Lotus Esprit. It would probably have been more reliable than the Esprit he wanted!
warren t claim Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Not an anti spam bump! Waylaid with manflu and at a loose end tonight I decided to kill a few hours playing this gem once more. I wish someone here could update it. Banger Kenny 1
garethj Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 You can get a Spectrum emulator for Android phones, I've just downloaded one called Unreal Spectrum Portal. Then I copied the game tzx file onto my phone. Now I can play it on my phone, FUK U, CANDY CRUSHH warren t claim and trigger 2
