If they're buggering off it seems a bit much to expect paying guests to look after their cat. Their grammar is not the best either. My 1st reaction was. How much is a cattery these days. Happy to do it if they are happy to provide the savings direct to my bill. 13 hours ago, Noel Tidybeard said: i'm not sure they're cheeky fuckers seeing as they asked first- some people may not have a problem doing it at all They did ask, so we told them one of our party has an allergy to cats j 2 hours ago, somewhatfoolish said: If they run an Airbnb they can afford one of those electric feeder things that reveals fresh kibble once a day. Weird but not cheeky as they've given you the option of not doing it.
Metal Guru Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 One thing I very often see with any holiday let , is crockery and cutlery supplied as just one set per person. So in a 4 berth cottage, 4 plates, 4 forks, 4 knives . 4 cups, 4 candles etc . Do they expect you to wash up everything immediately? Even worse , when there’s a dishwasher. You either don’t bother with it, or use it 3x a day. Also pint glasses are hardly ever supplied , so you end up drinking beer from a wine glass or small tumbler.

I have a nice chunky US multiway extension lead a friend from the states gave me when she was over here, as it blew up when she plugged it into 240V! the crux was it was a surge protected unit, so all the MOVs just exploded (I then just took it apart and removed said blown up MOVs and put it back together, but she said I could keep it so into the big bag of cable purgatory it now lives LOL)
mat_the_cat Posted November 3, 2023 Author Posted November 3, 2023 It's fed from a 120V transformer of a fairly low wattage. Can't recall exactly what, but it's fused appropriately! You are right that it's now 50Hz, but it'll likely only be used with the pictured USB chargers (which American guests left in the cottage). If we do get Americans staying I will warn them! mat_the_cat Posted March 19, 2024 Author Posted March 19, 2024 We've had the first paying guests now, actually the 3rd lot have just left. And despite my instructions not to force anything: Both bent and twisted. One of the light switches is also broken, although still operates 3 of the 4 bulbs. I'm guessing it's been twisted the wrong way, but I accept it could have been a random failure. Dan302 and Sunny Jim 2
