The Kia is booked in for an MOT next week then it will be up for sale.

Its a really cracking, reliable car that has given me 4 years great service........so naturally it's for sale.

I will post a for sale thread when ready!

Got a little bottle of touch up paint for the Peugeot from eBay, £3.45 delivered and although it's a little thin the colour match is spot on, there was only a couple of little marks but it's tidied them up a bit.

Still haven't put any fuel in it as.....

A. I'm still using the Kia for some journeys

B. It seems to do all of the mpgeees

Took the Kia for an MOT this afternoon, failed on a track rod end so I'll get that replaced next week before putting it up for sale.

Booking the MOT for 4pm on a Friday wasn't my best idea!

Kia MOT now passed and ready for sale.

Clutch replaced in the Peugeot, biting point much better now. Cost loads less than quoted as it all went well and was a lot quicker than book time.

Kia sold to a family for there daughter to get to uni, got £950 which is around the figure I was hoping for.

The fuse box cover inside the glove box in the 207 was missing, popped into a breakers and walked out with a replacement for £2.

I did some government health survey thing and got a £5 voucher in return. Chose an Amazon one and ordered a new rear wiper blade which on cost 90p after using the voucher. I'd already stuck new ones on the front.

I'm surprised that the headlights didn't need more attention tbh, I lost count of the number of bulbs I had to replace and the connectors are brittle as balls!

Keep an eye on the injector seals, it's already had them replaced on one of the injectors as it was blowing by like a steam engine - the others were fine.

It was a damn fine steed (for a French car) and I kinda miss it... 😂

Was it you that filled the headlights with dead insects? 🤣 They could do with a polish at some point which I'll eventually get round to.

It's going up on my mates ramp for some lanoguard treatment I'll have a good listen for blowing seals, I know it's a common thing on those engines.

Yeah I mean it doesn't have the solid, quality feel that my Ceed had but I really like it and it just refuses to use any diesel! I like it a lot more than I expected to 🙂

THAT'S GREG! It's been in there since I got it, I don't even know how the poor bastard managed to get in there... 😂

I will however admit to being the cause of the scrape on the drivers side rear quarter. Tried pulling a u turn in Manchester city centre and thought a roadworks sign was further away than it was. 🙈

🤣🤣 The daddy long legs was one of the first things @cpjitservices pointed out to me!

I bought a little bottle of touch up paint from eBay and performed a completely "invisible" repair! Well it doesn't draw the eye to it quite as much. It's actually quite a tidy little car considering it's bargain price 😁

I always feel better having 2 keys so got another cut and programmed for the 207 today, mobile chap from the next village, £100 and it works perfectly.

I'll keep the old key as a spare.

Pug 207 is booked in this afternoon for oil, filter and fuel filter and also to investigate the slight bearing noise under the bonnet. They will also check the injector seals just in case.

Had a new windscreen fitted the other day and noticed water in the bulkhead on the drivers side........where there's no access. Quick Google recommended removing the rubber duck bill on the drain.

So wipers off

Scuttle off

Wiper linkage out, only 2 bolts but awkward to get out as it's tight.

Took the rubber duck bill out and it was completely gunged up. Poured some water down the drain and it was clear. Chucked the duck bit away and reassembled.

Couldn't quite get the scuttle to click in to the bottom of the windscreen (neither could the fitter) I'll put a thin bead of silicone to direct the water where it needs to go otherwise it can drop onto the pollen filter and sound deadening. It should peel off easy enough if I need to remove the scuttle again. It was a £450 car I'm not above a slight bodge 😂

There was an MOT advisory for corrosion on the 207 so got it up on my mates outdoor ramp. It's absolutely fine, tiny bit of surface on the rear beam and the radiator support, anyway while I was there gave a few bits a wire brushing and a squirt of lanoguard......I smell like a farm yard now 😂

Handbrake has been adjusted once but still isn't great (there's a bloody great hill on the way home from work with traffic lights so I'd like it to feel a bit more confidence inspiring!)

Needs new handbrake shoes and the fitting kit so it's getting that done this afternoon.

Also needs the cables replacing, as I enjoy not rolling back into cars behind me on hills it's all getting done!

Looking at £289.15 all in. Given that they replaced my clutch for £312 less than they originally quoted I'm not going to argue!

AVAS, All Vauxhalls are Superb. Had this 1L 3 cylinder beast as a courtesy car for the afternoon, ace fun and of course the footwell carpets were wet just like my old one!

Set off today to a grinding creaking groaning (not my knees for once) broken spring, luckily my regular mechanic had a cancellation so it's getting sorted tomorrow

Front near side spring replaced so now no horrible noises when turning left. Cost £115 altogether.

Had a new headlight bulb connector soldered in as the old one was a bit corroded and had been  bodged a little. Had to make my mechanic accept some money, the guys a Saint 😄

It will be booked in for an engine mount soon and I suspect I've got a failing drop link or bush somewhere.

Still love the little Pug

Engine mount and the other side bulb connector soldered in. Engine doesn't feel like it's trying to escape through the bulkhead on start up now 🤣

Suspension knock is a failing bottom ball joint which will get booked in in a month or so.

Still really enjoying this car 🙂

Better not be the driver's side ball joint, I replaced it with GSF's finest and a right bastard of a job it was too.

I think it might be (I thought that's was the side the noise was coming from)

But my tame mechanic will be doing it I'm too much of a halfwit to do my own spannering!
