Dan302's new car

Car is currently at my usual garage for the timing belt and to seal the leaking boot.

He said they had done the same sealing job on another Fiesta just last week. He did say they are a cracking little car though.

The Peugeot is heading North with it's new owner.

I shall leave the new owner to announce his "quality" purchase but what a thoroughly lovely bloke and 10/10 would definitely chat about old chod with him again!

Fiesta has received a full timing belt, water pump, auxiliary belt, rocker cover gasket, tracking (steering wheel no longer on the piss!) and hopefully the dribble of water into the boot sorted.

There was a bit of excitement as the water pump pulley wasn't tightened fully but all sorted now!

Still getting a little water in the boot so I'll tiger seal the seams where the roof and c pillar meet etc. The under bumper bits have been sealed and I've new rear light seals to fit. It's not a lot of water by any means but I want it to be right!

The mechanic that did the belt etc even said what a cracking little car it is, said it felt like a good one and I have to say I agree, drives really well, comfortable, smart looking etc.

There's a patch of lacquer peel and the spoiler and a few little dots on the bonnet but overall it's a smart little thing.

Needed a new front tyre as air was weeping out of a previous repair (shame as it was a nearly new tyre.

Fitted with one of Landsails finest!

New clutch fitted too as the bearing was a bit grumbly and I plan on keeping the car long term. Drives much better now.

If I get a dry day next week (big if!) I'll seal the seams and replace the rear light seals as I'm still getting a little water into the boot.

I've removed the flattened rubber rear light seals and replaced with some thick butyl tape.

Would have been a quick job but someone had been in there with a load of silicone sealant which needed removing first.

I've still got the seams to seal but that can wait until next week (if it's dry)

I used some PU sealant on the seams where the roof/C-pillar and rear panel meet (there was definitely a crack in the old seam sealer.

In a huge display of confidence I've refitted the boot carpet but I'll keep an eye on it after any heavy rain.

The boot courtesy light fixing tabs had snapped so it was dropping into the boot. Got a genuine Ford one off ebay.

There are a few stone chips that have just started to rust so I've got some rust converter and touch up paint, won't be perfect but it's a 14 years old Fiesta!

Lastly I've got a little 500ml lanolin spray bottle which I'll do some of the suspension bits etc with.

Oh I bought some proper clips for the parcel shelf. I find little improvements like this really satisfying!

Aircon re-gas successful. There was a little gas left in the system but it's all topped up and working now.

I've got a little 500ml bottle of lanolin chassis guard (the Buzzweld one) which I'll do the the underneath with, doesn't really need it but it was cheap and I can use my friends outdoor 4 post lift. I've got a cheap cavity wax aerosol with a hose so I can make a mess with that too.
