Halfords Professional Socket Sets

Recommended Posts

The modular socket sets all contain 6 sided sockets if anyone specifically wants them in preference to the 12 sided ones.  Maybe work out little bit more expensive I'd imagine.

Like others on here I've got various sets of halfords pro/advanced tools which get heavy use and hold up really well to be fair. Any items that I have broken, couple of sockets and a ratchet, have been replaced without an issue.

Good value, capable tools with lifetime guarantee can't be argued with.

Whats the difference between Advanced and Pro? My 200 pc socket set has half of it missing and could do with being replaced

I have a few advanced. They seem a bit chunkier,  not quite as slim on the jaws.  Are a bit cheaper at times, although there's that many offers you never know.

No lifetime guarantee on Advanced afaik.

I think advanced is the new name while pro is the old.

I snapped a breaker bar of theirs while bouncing on a 6 foot scaff pole, the Halfords guy just laughed, said "fuck me how did you manage that" and gave me a new one. I really do like their tools apart from the Torx which can be a bit fragile

I've had a Halfords Advanced 1/2" drive Metric/Imperial socket set since 2001 and although it's been well-used, it's still in full working order :)

you never say that you increased the distance on a bar, the old equation... torque equals force multiplied by distance..... did it to a snap on one when i was an apprentice, was trying to remove something on a truck again using a big scaffy pole

I've bent my Sealey 2' breaker just by standing on the end of it, I'm about 12 1/2 stone. Only cost me 7 quid though and hasn't actually broken yet so can't complain.
