I do like this CITROEN CX GTI TURBO.

That must be one of the very first Turbo 2s. I had a series 1 GTI Turbo on a C plate - superb car. Only 165bhp but phenomenal torque and very little turbo lag meant there wasn't a lot that would stay with it on the road. I'll be keeping an eye on that one.

Whenever I see a CX 25 GTI my thoughts turn to Betty Blue. Mmmm Beatrice Dalle…

Nice motor, dunno about them being very rare though. I've seen at least 3-4 of those GTi ones for real in the last few years. Still nice mind.

the rare bit is the "turbo"quite a few GTis around - that's a different car usually with an autobox and a pallas interior - torsten has one - nice motors in their own right but the Gti Turbo on a manual box is a hooligan of a car

Fair enough! I thought all the GTis were turbos to be honest. I quite like the idea of a normally-aspirated one.

Wing looks a bit rubber ducked though.........

- this is what I thought too. There are two incarnations of the Turbo. There's the Series 1 metal bumper 'GTi Turbo 1' and the Series 2 'GTi Turbo 2' the T1 is the rare and sought after example and it's faster. There are also cross overs. There is a Series 2 'Turbo1' I believe that just overlaps the change from the CX 1 to the CX 2 in 1985. It has the T1 engine and 'box in a series 2. There is also the later GTi T2 with intercooler. T1 is from about 1982-1985 and the T2 is from 1986 till the end in 1989.The only non- Turbo GTi CX I know of it the first GTi from 1977 with the 2.4 engine and Bosch K jet tronic but it didn't have a 'Pallas' interior - there was always an exclusive 'GTi' interior - for these first ones it was a two tone black and white situation. Later, for the T1 the interior was the 'chevron' pattern or dead cow. Funnily enough the ebay CX ^^ has the wrong seats, they are leather but they're not from the GTi they're from a CX Prestige or a special order Pallas. The GTi T1/2 leather seats were mad looking sporty affairs.

you may be right - I'm trying to recall if the one I had - which torsten now owns - is a turbo - it certainly wasn't the Turbo 2 which is the rare one I was referring to.my (torstens) one has the pallas non leather interior with the extra fag lighters etc a 3 speed auto box and is Gti badged - it was the Grand Tourer and is a rare car in its own right - quick enough and may well have had a turbo I just can't remember...torsten will know
