MrSteve's spots- small update on page 6

Hi All

I've spent many an hour enjoying the posts and pics here, and thought I should contribute at last, seeing as how I have got a few spots from my neck of the woods, and hope to find a few more.

So to start, here are some from last year, starting with a lovely Samba that winked at me whilst I was sat in traffic in Lancaster one morning...

Posted Image

Next up is a Visa Diseasel spotted in Kendal

Posted Image

A few miles on and here's a Honda Acty out to pasture on the way up to Shap

Posted Image

Spotted in deepest, suburban Preston was this lovely 2CV.

Posted Image

This Merc diesel is very close to home and hasn't moved in years..shame, as I'm sure there are chip shops that would be happy to make it go again.

Posted Image

Not so shite is this nice slim-bumpered X1/9. However, I think the Toyota Paseo may just qualify as shite (or indeed just shit?).

Posted Image

Now for some more recent spots- I couldn't believe my eyes when I came across this lot this on my way to the local scrappie

Posted Image

Anyway, back to cack with this mk2 Astra CD, looking quite perky despite it having a towbar. And there's a hint at the identity of one of my small fleet...oh yes, it's beige!

Posted Image

That's all for now, but i'll post some pics from a recent classic car show in Grange over Sands and some spots from the past weeks, as well as my 2 runabouts.

Posted

welcome:)nice spots you have there as well!look forward to future pictures :D

Renault

ahh aussi bonjour et bienvenue... welcome to the crackhou... i mean madhouse

Posted

Welcome, nice spots there. X1/9 and Visa for me please!

Posted

Posted Image

That's another one of those 'I'd have one of those over a GTE', because they're so well looked after. I've seen a few CD's about, and they're really clean.

Posted

That Samba is lovely :) (but i like the Astra CD better 8) )Welcome!!! :D

Posted

the Astra CD for me please. Remember looking at one of those a while back when I was after a new motor and being thoroughly impressed with it, but the seller wanted too much cash so I had to walk away.Welcome to autoshite 8) .. amazes me how many people read the site for months before posting.. wonder how many lurkers are out there??

trillions and trillions all dying to get in and and spam us to death with the latest porn & viagra shite

I'm impressed that I managed to get all the pics to show properly first time, rather than lots of red x's- phew! :)

Here's tonight's additions- weekend before last was the Dales and Lakes Historic Vehicle Day in Grange over Sands. Not been before, but then I hadn't had anything worth going in- it covers cars from the 1920's up to 1989.

The thought of spending 6 hours in a field surrounded by MGBs did kind of fill me with dread, but sure enough there was a surprising bit of variety for a small show, and as at most events you can always count on the car park to have a few gems.

I was in the 1980-1989 future classics bit, way down at the bottom of the field, so got a chance to cop a look at the older cars in their decade sections on the way down.

So the first thing to catch my eye was this stunner of a Metro.

Closely followed by this super Nova

Posted Image

I ended up parked next to this Laurel

Posted Image

At the other end of 80's row were these Cortinas- not seen a 2-door one in the flesh before.

Posted Image

There was also this minty Monte Carlo. The 2CV Charleston behind won the best decorated car prize- no doubt assisted by the window boxes.

Posted Image

A wander round the rest of the show got this selection:

Crown taxi

Posted Image

P5- I prefer these to the V8 ones.

Posted Image

Alvis and a 1300 Countryman

Posted Image

Magnum, I think?

Posted Image

Two white Fords- it was interesting to see the similar styling.

Posted Image

Strangely appealing colour really suited this Clubman.

Posted Image

Campertastic Bedford, plus a hint of Scimitar GTC

Posted Image

Crouching Ford, hidden Austin

Posted Image

Pop 'n' porker

Posted Image

I'll finish with some car park snaps.

Got a soft spot for Robins as my grandad had a yellow one when I was little.

Posted Image

Lightly battered Justy

Posted Image

Loved this Wolseley- possibly one of the best cars there due to the whiff of mankiness, topped off nicely by the gaffer tape roof

Posted Image

And finally, spotted this in Grange on the way home when I got a paper.

Calling Hirst, Your new Taxi has arrived!.

Hi Mr Steve, Welcome to the forum, Great photo's you have posted here.

Love the Nova 4 door, You don't see many about any more and that Laurel is gorgeous! Great work!

Good pictures again :) Also, post pics of your cars next, Im quite intrigued to what they could be

Whoa, that Crown!

This is a nice daily + toy combo:

Dodged the rain today to take these pics of my lovelies, starting with the beige beauty...bought this in Italy in December and drove it the 1200 miles back home over 3 days.

Posted Image

Ticks the important boxes for me- air-cooled, two cylinders, limited performance, but still ace!

Posted Image

More beigeness inside, as well as brown and sludge green carpet

Posted Image

And now for the oily bits- 652cc of powah!

Posted Image

A large hint at the next member of the fleet

Posted Image

Here it is (minus the front panel as I'm about to find the source of a hefty oil leak)

Posted Image

The 602cc powerhouse

Posted Image

Stumpy, yet pert derriere

Posted Image

I've also got a Citroen Dyane and 2CV6, both off the road at the moment, but you can see the theme...

Posted
:shock::shock: OMG.Superb stuff. Absolutely fantastic tat you have there  1200 miles back from Italy in a two stroke Panda. Awesome, I am impressed!

What's with the chintzy trims and whitewall combo? Bit too flash for me that.

 I can't decide which one I love more!!I think the Panda edges it, but only just. I've *never* seen an aircooled Citroen LNA. Thanks for sharing! From a fellow aircooled Citroenist (see my sig)Mark.
Posted

Awesome, Panda 30 for me.. I remember my Ma's old 45 had spec and pictures for the 30 in the handbook.

I stand corrected!

A pic I took at the Citroen Car Club National Rally last year :D

Cheers,

Mark.

Gorgeous pair - I thought that Panda would have the earlier, more body-coloured nose/grille?

Posted

You know, Im sure I read something about the Fiat purchase on another forum - did you go via the Alps?

Posted

Gosh your cars are stunning! That panda is so smart.Nice :D

Posted

Yes, came back through the Swiss alps, which got a bit scary as it was snowing heavily before the Gotthard tunnel- motorway was down to one lane, and even that was rapidly turning white. Here is the thread on FiatForum with some more pics too

http://www.fiatforum.com/panda-classic/173381-panda-30-home-last.html

I've got the right metal grill at home- just painted it, so hope to fit it soon, then it will look just like the brochure I have. For some reason a previous owner had changed the grill, headlights and wheels for later ones to make it look a bit more modern.

The Citroen has the nicer engine though- revs much higher, nicer sound and feels more lively.

Posted Image

ohhhhh i want this soooooo bad

all cortina mk5 2drs were built in SA and only came with 1.3 powehouses..

but dont hold me to that, love your panda and LNA very sweet 8)

Posted
Thats the one - EPIC :!:Nice to see you got the wheels sorted - what about the rear fog? Could you not fit the lens from a UK spec Panda in its place and wire across from the fog on the other side? I really like that Panda, well done. Beige too, for added value shitepoints.

Ah, alright and What a Trip!

Panda is a honey, it's identical (albeit a 45 rather than 30) that my primary school teacher bought new when they first came out. 8) Oh and welcome!

Posted

Time for some spots from the past week or so- taken on my run to Lancaster.

First up, a festering Fiesta in Grange over Sands

Posted Image

This was behind me for most of the trip- big old Merc van of some sort

Posted Image

305 van parked up the side of a country garage

Posted Image

A supermarket stop-off in Carnforth gave this brief encounter

Posted Image

Posted Image

Back on the A6, and snapped this slightly rough Prefect- now on ebay!

Posted Image

Quality Cortina (is it me or does the rear suspension seem a bit high?)

Posted Image

Old faithful

Posted Image

And on the other side of the street was this...

Posted Image

And then on to the prom in Morecambe with this pair

Posted Image

Closely followed by this Honda

Posted Image

Diversion via Netto scored this spot

Posted Image

And this unloved Jag to finish
