What Shite'in bulb is this please?

A bit of background information......

Some may well know that I imported a Prius from Japan. The rear light setup in a Jap Prius is such that when in reverse TWO lights illuminate. No fog light is fitted hence why so many Jap imports are fitted with that horrid looking bolt on jobby you can normally buy for £6 or so quid. Anyway.....I did not want this bolt on jobby on the back of my Prius so have had the drivers side reverse light wired in such a way that that is now the fog light and keeps everything nice and tidy.

The bulb that is fitted is some extremely weird bulb which absolutely no one seems to know what it is. Euro's as to be expected just look at me blankly. Anyway, to overcome the red/clear light issue I painted with my wifes red nail varnish and hey presto, we have one red fog light bulb.

I really must sort this as was commented on the other day by TFL outside Kings Cross that my bulb is now no longer the red it once used to be and like is the situation with indicators shedding their orange skin this bulb has done exactly that.

So.....can someone please tell me what the hell this bulb is and how/where to get one that is coloured red just like you find with some indicator bulbs being coloured orange.

Here is a picture of the bulb in question.....oh and as a fail safe this one is currently drying in the sun outside after having just been coated with another layer of my daughters red poster paint

They are 7440's or 582's apparently. All you need to do is find red ones of those.
