Lovely Astra Nick, but he's way off at  3½.

That Tata Gurkha is ace ... It loooks to me like the bastard offspring of a Dutton Sierra and a Matra rancho.

Does anyone know much about those things, like what did they steal the engine from?

Ccording to How Many Left there are only 4 or so Gurkhas on the road, 7 on SORN. I only had a breif experience of one many moons ago and it really w as a pile of shit. It's just so darn tempting.

I so would that Tata Gurkha.... I think colleting off roader type things will be quite fun, I also want an Asia Rocsta, and a Ssangyong Musso, and maybe even a Korando. And an NCF Diamond, a Dutton Sierra, and a Matra Rancho.

Just space innit.

I need to set up something business like with plenty of space, that could serve as a "front" for my car addiction.

Tata Gurkha

Performance marks 2 / 10

Reliability marks 1 / 10

Comfort marks 3 / 10

Running Costs (higher is cheaper) 3 / 10

Overall marks (average of all marks) 2.3 / 10

Summary:

Definite contender for worst car ever built

Faults:

Clutch replaced.

Turbo pipe split and leaking oil.

Locks faulty.

Power steering faulty.

Electric windows faulty.

Temperature guage faulty.

Bumpers falling off.

Gearbox linkage snapped.

4x4 low ratio not working.

Most interior fittings broken.

General Comments:

Smokey, slow, unreliable, smelly, uncomfortable, build quality worse than I've ever seen before. This car is truly terrible. Don't be tempted that you can get even a low mileage example for next to nothing, they're not worth it because they are rubbish.

Whoever wrote this has obviously never owned a Landrover. This reads like the description of one of the better examples, however, the running costs aren't 3/10, they are 47/10.

Your taste in personal transportation devices is spot-on, but what you still need to learn is to differentiate between what belongs into this, and what belongs into the Ebay "Bargains" thread.

I would so like that Tatra..........My type of car.

Too far away unfortunately.

Aye, Nick. I made the same mistake as well. Overpriced "bargains" go in the other thread. This thread is for tatty stuff that may be of interest. What do your mates think of your quality taste in  proper automotive class?

Posted

Yeah you're right about the Regatta. I was so excited the first time around that I didn't notice the price!

I may be the bighest bidder on said quality* Indian 4wd vehicle.

I was thinking it may be time to get in early for the OMGSNOKAOS ;)

There's a TATA specialist not too far from me. He's usually got a few for sale, including the odd Safari!

Is the Gurkha definitely a 4x4? I can't see anything that looks like a low range shifter in the pictures, and they *did* make a non-4x4 version.
