Why couldn't that Lincoln be registered?

You'd probably find it pings all over the system as a stolen car, or totalled, in whatever state it used to call home.

Sound like a lot of work has gone into this?

Partly restored, brought back to bare metal for repainting, but the home-made comedy whitewalls really crack me up.

Also, monkeys might fly out of my butt.

I have never understood this, buy a car renowned for it's raging thirst and drive it like a pussy.

I had a chat with a bloke who reckoned he got mid 20s out of his too. He was proud about it.

After a lot of prying turns out that he dare not touch the throttle nor exceed some serious truck bothering speeds to achieve those figures. I mean like what is the fucking point! Buy a Mondo Dizzle!

From my records, over the last 10 years (115k miles) I have averaged 15.4 on LPG. mostly motorway but a lot of dribbling around town putting my running costs somewhere mid 20s, chipped 300tdi territory!

At an educated guess (based on a couple of tankfills over the years) I would expect my equivilent pez running costs to be around the 19mpg mark, But then I dont hang around.

On board computer on an XJ-S v12 showed current 1mpg on a spirited run years ago. Paradoxically Dad's X308 4litre will not go below 10mpg however much throttle I give it. methinks the computer tells fibs :D

Verdict = wantz econmy? don buyz Jagz, Land rova ect

I used to know a bloke who was adamant his Range Rover did over 30mpg. God knows how as my 3.5 was pretty good to get just over 20. (It had a full sports exhaust and sounded better than my mates TVR so I didn't drive it gently) The 3.9's were far worse on fuel so it is possible with an early 3.5 injection that he could get 24 driving it normally.

If you paint this, I'll send Herr Junkman after you.

Late night Vulg? or cannot sleep :(

Anyway what did you go and do that ^^ for. Kind of tickles my rather unhealthy itch for an old Van, though Morris J Type panel van still sits at the top of that list :D

Classic van should only be brush painted with enamel paint etc
