I am selling my Alfa to which has issues these being as follows (big list)

1/ No Service history

2/ I have replaced the cambelt and waterpump (local garage)

3/ MOT runs out in just over a month

4/ Heavy Vibration front drivers side ( could be drive shaft or bearing (expect the worst))

5/Rear passengers side window not working (currently taped up. Assume its the motor)

6/ No rear reverse lights (this will be at the gearbox selector guide)

7/ Trouble with gear selector (1st and reverse). Note this is the gear selector and not the box

8/ Headlights are not correctly aligned

9/ Rear door handle does not work

10/ Rear window washer / wiper does not work

11/ Handbrake a bit soft

12/ Air con not the best

13/ Seat belt / air bag light on

14/ Alternator noisy on start up - This is new

15/ Under full accelerator the turbo can be smokey

In summary?

Great car.

MOT history is rather interesting...

Test date: 11 October 2012

Test Result: Fail

Odometer reading: 118,202 miles

Reason(s) for failure

Nearside Front Tyre(s) incorrect because different size tyres are fitted on the same axle. (4.1.A.1a)

Vehicle structure has excessive corrosion, seriously affecting its strength within 30cm of the body mountings (6.1.B.2)

Nearside Front Suspension arm has excessive play in a ball joint (2.4.G.2)

Offside Front Suspension arm has excessive play in a ball joint (2.4.G.2)

Advisory notice item(s)

Vehicle structure has slight corrosion (6.1.A.1)

Then...

Test date: 16 October 2012

Expiry date: 25 October 2013

Test Result: Pass

Odometer reading: 118,216 miles

Advisory notice item(s)

Vehicle structure has slight corrosion (6.1.A.1)

Which is fine, I guess some welding has been done.

However, there is nothing until:

Test date: 20 June 2015

Expiry date: 19 June 2016

Test Result: Pass

Odometer reading: 118,308 miles

3 Years later, with no mention of any corrosion ... on an Alfa...

£350 though with 3 months MOT left.

Somewhat unbelievably, quite a few of these were made. It is a Guy salmon XJ-S. Someone actually paid loads of money back in the '80s for it to look this silly.
