It's not even an L (in spite of what the ad says). It's the mingebag base model (by the misery trims). F-Reg too!

You can imagine back in 1989 some chap collecting the keys to his new company car and being delighted to get the 'all-new, car of the future Cavalier' then realising he's got a poverty spec one in hearing aid beige.

I was that man in January '90. Was mechanic for years then got job as mobile vehicle examiner......chuffed to get a co car at all as had always run bangers. Even a trip to an office was a novelty and I was given the keys to a 12 month old Cav 1600S.....as the base was called. Only had a radio and I don't think that had FM. It was a quick and quiet car in its day.....

I think it's that magnificent custom job someone on here photographed at a show. But I can't find the photos they posted.

Oh no oh no, somebody cut it up :(

I recognised the badging on the back:

Aw that's a sad sight. I remember kind of admiring it exactly three years ago when I snapped it looking like this...

GSM Delta sports car – 1961. Not a kit car, it's a uber rare production car made jointly in UK and SA, so the man says. Looks in lovely condition, deserves to make strong money.

Parked it up approx 50 years ago and sadly never returned this vehicle has been lost for many years sitting somewhere on 200 acres of private Estate now it's up for sale sadly not much of the car is left.

Wow look at this beaut. Right up Tagoarsx's street if he has more room and good with brake repairs on these.

Ex ministerial Ford LTD with supposed corrosion issues, though it looks pretty good to me. I love the wheels on these later ones; earlier versions had even nattier stainless trims but are often replaced with inappropriate modern rimz.

But it's a 1988 - talk about Aussies milking a production run for all it's worth. Could you imagine this on an E plate?

WARNING - DO NOT READ THE ADVERT. Unless you enjoy reading flowery bullshit.

A S1 Land Rover with Holden straight 6 motor is a serious itch I need to scratch at some point, especially whilst they are still borderline affordable. I'm just going to have to pretend I've not seen this one at the moment though.

Not roadworthy, newer white plates, dodgy looking bulkhead rust, common-as-muck green and being in the other island are points which I'm trying to justify as not tempting me but who am I kidding?!

£1400 start with no bids, which is actually a little steep for a project round these parts!
