Have you ever driven one of these? There is scuttle shake and then there are these heaps of crap. Even driving over a cats eye feels like you are clinging onto a wet dog thats trying to shake itself dry

 

as a grade A+++ Rover licker it pains me to say it, but Dodgytom is right, these are astonishingly bendy. Imagine driving an R8 where every suspension bush is so knackered that its jumping all over shop on a rough road surface, well thats what these feel like when in good nick.

Presumably though that's going to be the case with any hatchback that's had its roof chopped off?  I guess the closest equivalent would be an Astra, Escort or 306 convertible, aren't these more or less the same?

You might be right as I have not experienced those. Went in a Mk4 Astra soft top and it was a lot more solid mind you.

all have a degree of  it but not in the same class as the R8.
