In full pedant mode can I also point out that the base models didn't have chrome around the door tops the base models really, really did have nothing in the way of trim on the outside what so ever....

It is a base alright. It's 35 years old so it's going to have suffered some messing around with. It's not bad given some of the other horror cortinas we've seen on this thread.

It's possibly worth a Ã‚Â£250 bid or something, you never know seller might ask how much you bid and try and do a deal. Or probably not, but you never know. I'd have a cheeky bid but I don't like VAG stuff, it's petrol, it's the same colour as my old 80TDi estate and I don't like VAG stuff.

'sadly this one has been butchered by the previous owner.they stripped the car and removed the floor and replaced it with a beetle chassis,the car still has its correct front suspension but the engine and gearbox and rear suspension was sadly scrapped!'
