Matt Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 WTF? It's a Daihatsu Cuore (Mira in Japan) walkthrough van with a Mini front end. British stuff is very trendy in Japan and Minis are quite popular. I think there are a few with conversions like this. Craig the Princess 1

Till last year, every morning at 9 sharp one of these would cruise down the Kings Road, Chelsea, driven by an old geezer who would sit at a café by Sloane Square and leer at the girls for the rest of the day.I'd been wondering how to spend my retirement, thanks! alf892, Adrian_pt and DSdriver 3

cort16 Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Fuck a duck here's another cheap AMG merc. This is a C32 and it's even quicker than the flippin c43. No v8 though. This would definitely blow up and ruin me. http://www.gumtree.com/p/mercedes-benz/mercedes-benz-c32-amg/1085622400 I've been doing a bit of reading on these and even though they're thermo nuclear in a straight line when autocar (or some such) tested them it only beat a v6 MGZ R by 1 second a lap even though they've got pretty much double the horse power. It seems to be thanks to a not all that great autobox and wobbly handling.
worldofceri Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 No brainier then: fly past on the straights then hold 'em up through the twisties…

cort16 Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 There seems to be a lot of these surfacing this year. cort16 Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 It's like xr3i's. There seems to be 9 convertibles for every 1 hatchback for sale. Who bought them all? What are these Land Rovers actually like? There's so much scene tax, life style one life bollocks about them it's hard to get a gauge on them. This pickup is for sale with the 2.5 di engine (I presume from the transit) for £2200 and it's doesn't look to bad. I http://www.gumtree.com/p/vans/land-rover-110/1085611064 Junkman and Banger Kenny 2
dollywobbler Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Not sure it's a Transit engine. It'll either be the last of the old Turbo Diesel Land Rover engines, or a very early Tdi (but I think they were all Defender badged?). They're cramped, pretty uncomfortable and truly excellent off road. cort16 1
Skizzer Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Agricultural. The 2.5 diesel turbo is not the engine of choice, being rough, noisy, dog slow and prone to cracked blocks and other cooling problems. That one must be one of the last before the 200Tdi came in; 200s are a bit more money but probably worth it. The engines weren't anything to do with Transits until the Td5, after Ford bought LR. You'll be wanting to bin those tyres, too. cort16 and garethj 2
