I was unaware Bond had made a facelifted Mk2 version of the 875. I would love to see the legendary Mr Hubnut work his magic on this one.

on a more serious note, what are coventry climax/hillman imp engines like for spares? since rootes/hillmans are bad for spare parts i'm guessing that there isn't much about for an imp, much less for a bond?

This car has had a reported £60,000 spent on a major restoration..... A significant modification and part of the restoration was removing the running gear and replacing it with a 2.8 Nissan diesel engine and automatic gearbox

Why do I like this..?

For some reason your posted link just reloads this page. not the eBay link.

Fixed now, I think!

Yes, but not in my quoted bit. Beware folks. Still £60k on a reliable daily car that’s done 700miles since seems a little weird.

True, but not as weird as binning a Jaguar XK straight six and chucking in a Diesel truck engine out of a mid-1990s Nissan Patrol FFS.

Yes! Why on earth would anyone do this?

Every time I look at my XK6 equipped Jag I think about binning it, but that is probably due to my ease of access to a Ford Barra Turbo.

Sounds like one of those things that seemed a good idea at the time,  but not once the conversion work was completed.

Imps are pretty well supported engine parts wise, their continued Motorsport pedigree helps greatly in that regard.  Mechanically these feature the complete Imp running gear and trailing arm set up. The front Suspension set up is quite interesting as it tilts - leaning the car in to corners to aid stability - theoretically! Its the bushings for this front end set up which wear and perish and are made of unobtainium.
