BorniteIdentity Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 Really disappointed to read that the Rushden Cavalcade is no more. https://rhts.co.uk/cavalcade-2/ Last year's event was cancelled after inclement weather (a week before - annoyingly the BH weather was beautiful) and they've decided to pull the plug. It was absolutely one of my favourite events on the 'circuit'. It was SO much more than shitty old cars, the stalls the vintage fairground, busses, tractors - you name it. Whilst I understand their reasoning, it's still very disappointing. However one thing really stood out. Rushden is not unique in having to cope with rising costs as a number of events throughout the country are experiencing the same problems. Do you know of any other events that are now off? Also, if anybody knows of anything else in the East of England that's similarly broad in its appeal (so my wife doesn't complain TOO much) then please let me know. RIP.
barefoot Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 Elemental VW show in Essex - early April - is also cancelled this year.
lesapandre Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 The Stoney Stratford event is cancelled next year?
UltraWomble Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 The Woodvale steam fair in Southport has also died on its arse due to the organisers falling out with the Southport Flower Show over the venue.
quicksilver Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 The Stoney Stratford event is cancelled next year? Not exactly. This year was the last New Year's Day event but its sister show in the summer is continuing.
Ghosty Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 The EventCity classic car show in Manchester has been cancelled as well, as the venue hire was getting too high I believe.
