Witley Court?  B)

NEC show was enjoyed.  Saw some good friends, some shiters, and some who are both!

I enjoyed it today. Wasn't very busy either. Quiet enough to walk around without bumping into people all the time and allowed good look of cars. Had manflu so a lot of it was wandering around slightly dazed. A fair bit smaller (well half) compared to September's show however it made it less exhausting to get around in one day. Especially with a cold.

Was good(ish) today. Had a superb curry and cobra combo with some of the boys in Sheldon last night, got in there the NEC about 9. The NEC station car park really is good so in future the NEC and their 12 quid miles from fucking anywhere carparks can do one.

The auction area was free today so had a look at some overpriced shit (laughably fillered up 2.8 Daimler Sovereign and a very bent E30 M3) and some really rather nice gear. Car of the day tied between a 1959 Cadillac Coupe De Ville, a beautiful Reynard metallic 2200 HLS Princess and one of the three tatty but glorious Saab 92's. Saab people were as heroic/mad as expected, full marks.

Inca yellow TR7 Sprint was as spaffworthy as you'd expect.

Not much Jaguar or MGB overload, a couple of very nice early MG Metros including an Opaline green 1983 Turbo, a 1946 Beetle and of course the wanker car dealers trying to sell some early 2000's C Class Merc, an 08 plate BMW 120i and that sort of rubbish on the pretext that it's only done 18'000 miles. Who gives a fuck? They really should be prevented from displaying that kind of shit as it detracts from the event.

It's different to the November show; smaller and yet with a more enthusiast feel. Not sure I prefer it however.

Still the same disgraceful catering. £6.70 for a scone and a small orange juice? Are you shitting me? Went outside the halls for a pastie (very good) and coke for a bit less. What must foreign visitors think?

I find the stalls in the main event are a lot cheaper for food than the main NEC ones against the walls. The NEC ones wanted £4 for a rocky road chocolate thing, the patisserie stall charged a much more reasonable £2.50 for a black forest choclate tart (which tasted quite good).

I bought a Millionaire slab from the pie stand for £2.50 and still have most of it left! It was huge. Made me feel better about the PLEASE I JUST WANT SOMETHING EVEN SLIGHTLY HEALTHY orange juice I bought from an NEC hall for £2.75...

Was good to meet Saabnut, host of Shitefest 2018, who generally seems quite bemused by the whole thing. It'll be great. Nae worries.

Good to meet Mr Wobbler! Mad as expected, which is good! :-D

Good show, well attended and my favourite of the year. Attendance was 28k+ which was 3k up on last year.

I had the Saabo caravan on show, first time on the road in 14 years! Towed down from Aberdeen no problem, then took it for temp storage to Sheffield. Then back to Crawley, now ensconced at my gaff in France. Starting to recover now........
