Ford Mondeo Base - Sale aborted.

My criteria for buying a sub-£400 car is:

1) Is it roughly the right colour and shape as the ad?

2) Is it, or has it recently been, on fire?

If it's yes to the first and no to the second, I'll generally stump up the asking price after a cursory look-over.

If it's otherwise, then I'll haggle.

See elsewhere for my entertaining* story of the lost evening trying to sell a rotten Fiesta Mk2 for £50.

I hope someone got this.. I did try but they never replied & the ad has gone now...

Sorry, to be negative, but I’d imagine the next time the car is seen, it’ll have no windows and a number bolted to the roof. There was one person on here who would have given it a chance, and the seller blew it.

Why did my gut tell me something like this would happen? I suspect it will end it's days at Foxhall Stadium.

Yet despite that, I have a feeling I will sleep soundly.

If anyone has a burning lust for a low spec mk1... this has just been posted on the book of face.

The page it is on is usually SE England stuff. Needs 2 springs but tested til end november. worth the 200 quid he wants surely?

I know Bryan as well, he's a sound bloke and Cortina apologist, and good mate of Trigglesworthy, could make someone a very cheap runabout, it's a 1.8 Verona I believe, which isn't poverty spec

Did the Verona not have verona badges on the wings? I thought alloys too but google says just trims! Its listed as a "Ford Mondeo" on dvla so i wondered if it might be an aspen

I saw the Mondeo yesterday, its at the same garage where my Rover got welded up, it looks alright, at £200 it's cheap enough, they will probably fit the springs if you supply them and give them a drink too I'd imagine.

It's the same blue which was only available on the Verona, it was a run out model, and was based on the LX, my aunt had the hatchback version, and the remaining original trims on this were Verona exclusive

Didn't The Knack do a song about owning a Mondeo Verona?

The Verona does not comply with Einstein's theory of base.

Take it away please.
