Largactil Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 So yesterday morning, I rose at 04:00 to get to Dublin airport for 05:00... Hopped on the 06:40 to Paris-Charles de Gaulle, where it seemed a tad snowy on approach: Next it was on to the RER B to downtown Paris and then the tramway, to reach the Parc des expositions de la Porte de Versailles: I've wanted to go to Retromobile for the past 10-15 years that I've been aware of it - I realise it's 'not was it was', and more of an exotic classic car showroom for high-end dealers these days, but feck it. Flights were cheap, and I had the time spare. Limited shite there, but some nice stuff nonetheless: Ex-de Gaulle DS (Panhard headlights on a DS??) Good to see PSG have started re-manufacturing parts for classics - These strut tops for my LNA were unobtainable till recently - Check the price, though...(!) Airfix Mehari? Left after 5 hours, but felt I had barely had the chance to look round properly - The snow had stopped, so I walked up to the big tower for a quick photo op Before heading back to CDG to catch the 21:35 back to Dublin - Which landed at 22:30, and I was back in the house for 23:15 Rétromobile in a day from Ireland? Easy! Mr_Bo11ox, Sigmund Fraud, wuvvum and 23 others 26
mercrocker Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 didn't get my arse in gear again this year.....Would have been worth it to see that Fiat-Abarth OT2000, though. Largactil 1
Tadhg Tiogar Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 .... ^^I bet they didn't have problems finding rear brake discs for that "30".... (Panhard headlights on a DS??) I wonder if that was one of Robert Opron's styling experiments when he had the job of facelifting the DS back in 1967? The Artcurial board means it's going to be auctioned off for top dollar later. Good to see PSG have started re-manufacturing parts for classics - These strut tops for my LNA were unobtainable till recently - Check the price, though...(!) ...About time they stopped taking a Stalinist view of their manufacturing history. Will they make parts for CXs again? If they do, expect the profiteers at CX-Basis to quadruple their parts prices!
bezzabsa Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 what was the story with the countach shell?
Mrs6C Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 A top day, by the sound and look of it! Six-cylinder asks if you would mind scanning and sending him a copy of the Visa Trophee article out of the top 'echappement' magazine!
vulgalour Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 I don't know what the blue one is with the weird rear window grille but I do know I want it.

tommotech Posted February 11, 2018 Posted February 11, 2018 AS Euro road trip 2019 anyone......? Largactil and Sigmund Fraud 2
Largactil Posted February 11, 2018 Author Posted February 11, 2018 I wonder if that was one of Robert Opron's styling experiments when he had the job of facelifting the DS back in 1967? The Artcurial board means it's going to be auctioned off for top dollar later. About time they stopped taking a Stalinist view of their manufacturing history. Will they make parts for CXs again? If they do, expect the profiteers at CX-Basis to quadruple their parts prices! A Belgian atelier effort, before the factory Décapotable - Estimate was €60k-100k.....(!) A good few CX's there - Citroen's own stand had a lovely Dryade Green one on it, but the sills were mega rippled / brush painted (factory finish? ) These guys were quite friendly, and seem to have a forum which sells parts? (You're probably already aware of them). what was the story with the countach shell? It was on the Lambo factory stand - They (like a few manufacturers nowadays) are offering high-end restos: Aston Martin Works had a few 'as new' DB6's, and JLR Classic had their nut & bolt restored S1 Range Rover - "From £135k..." A top day, by the sound and look of it! Six-cylinder asks if you would mind scanning and sending him a copy of the Visa Trophee article out of the top 'echappement' magazine! No problem - Will sort it out for Chris over the next few days There was a Visa for sale in the 'affordable / sub €25k' section - A 14TRS with 24k on the clock, but by no means mint (a few dings & scrapes along the flanks). Excuse the blurry pic - A snip, at €7000... Definitely money in these old Citroens...Factory fresh Mehari's were €20k +
lesapandre Posted February 11, 2018 Posted February 11, 2018 Visa is over priced- most even the nicest under 3500€ on LeBonCoin. Exception is the GTI and other high performance types. Not, in my humble opinion really collected in France- most seem to go for the 2CV. This was the only cooking saloon I saw at a car show in the summer (there was a van and GTI). The C15 derivatives are quite valuable tho - simply because they are so useful and used daily in France.
