CD's or Tapes whichever suits the ICE you have, such as the then current "Now that's what I call shite", plenty of Kylie albums, A Neighbours calendar, a decent late 80's SLR Camera like a Minolta X-700 or summat like, that kind of stuff. A newspaper from the Berlin wall falling? Maybe? Was that 1989? Or 91?

How about an iconic flyer? Mind you, I don't imagine too many people arrived in a 25 Turbo :D

Rubik Cube is much earlier 80's than that - would suit a car from 83/84.How about a filofax?? Given it would have been a 'company car' type choice at the time.

Nintendo GameBoy with Tetris.

What about some of those little orangey-pink 'm.u.s.c.l.e. men' figures, they were all the rage in my school about this time. Just empty a little dustbin full of 'em into the passenger footwell.

Must have been after my time them... All I had was a 6 Million Dollar Man and an Eagle Eye Action Man....Shell suit, walkman, chest hair and medallion (which i still have), bottle of poppers, pint of snakebite, Whitesnake on the hi-fi and away we go.Of car period accessories - did people have those silly "lumionos" splat stickers then? and were those "wavey hands" that you could stick in the window still in? I have a "Maximiser" in th eloft for that "Big Red LED Look"....

Failing that, anything with a yellow acidman stuck to it. :)

old copy of razzle/fiesta/escort??...

Some good suggestions here. What about a Commodore 64, some McCain Micro Chips and a Soda Stream? Actually a Soda Stream is probably a bit too old.

A samsonite briefcase in black with red trim, and a period FT, possibly a Littlechef map.

Posted

Any popular late 80s, early 90s car stickers? Happy Eater, Mr Wimpy, Mobil petrol, Kiss FM? One of those rude doll things in the yellow top & red trousers that drops his trousers & bares his bum!

Posted

Check your loft to see if you have any Gateway carrier bags.AA road atlas from the period?Maybe a leaflet promoting Granada Lodge :)Garfield in the rear window, but perhaps not the image you're trying to recreate

A 10 unit green BT phone card stuck out of the fag tray?

More obscure still, a £2 Bronze deep notch Mercurycard....

I'll get me coat...

Posted

Deffo beaded seat cover, and an in car phone if you can get one  Was much amused by the thread on this a few weeks ago.

If you've got a little tray or inlet, scatter some giant old skool 5 & 50 pence pieces in there! :D

Last year, I went to the local car show on the way back from work and left my brown suit jacket hanging on the hook in the rear.Somebody thought it was a fun joke that had been left there deliberately. I was wearing the matching trousers at the time though.

For the period, this is the onee you want - I can probably dig you some out too. Silver lettering, footnotes and the notch.

Or, for the really obscure:-

Definately a pager. I had one of those up till 1997  Actually it was my mums, when I went to uni it was before mobile phones were affordable/available to all so we just had the payphone in halls. She gave me her old work pager so if she needed me, she paged me and I rang her back :)
