Wouldn’t be put off at all by the hybrid thing, less strain on the engine, usually regen brakes. Certainly less potential for serious trouble than a diesel.

The mild hybrid is only one of the versions of the Crown Comfort. All of the HK taxis I have been in are the bog standard lpg only variant. There is even a six cylinder version (rare) I beleieve, but I can't remeber where I read about that.

I don't think it should be dismissed as a modern, yes it was still in production till this year but it's been on the go largely unchanged since 1995!

 

It's not an unreasonable amount of money for a 2004 car is it? Just make sure you get some protection on the underside....
