My Sister in law has the above and the car wont lock off the buttons on the keycard any more. She has changed the battery in the keycard but to no avail.

This is all a bit high fallutin for me, does anyone have any ideas? Shes currently getting the bus as she doesn't like leaving it unlocked.

The key cards can be repaired - few people out there offering the service

I’d just carry a minimal amount of stuff in the car and leave it unlocked myself, like

Aye, if both buttons have failed at the same time it's probably the connection to the battery holder. If it's just one, then it'll be a button leg come adrift.

Open and resolder or pay someone on eBay to do the same.

It's a piece of piss.

Lever the keycard open with a sharp blade & cut the glue as you go. I tend to start at the end you pull the 'key' out of.

Solder the snapped connector back up & glue the top back on. Took me less than an hour on my first go & that included swapping guts out of another card to get a working one that said goona on it instead of scenic.

For 16 quid and because its not mine I'll leave it to the professionals. Found a seller on ebay who has 4000 feedback with 100% so Ive mailed her the link.

The spare keycard doesnt work either btw.

Guy offers same day turnaround via 1st Class post, he must do it for a living.

Haha they have to make someone happy!

For £30 get key cover and then lose the card and get two new ones.

Just a thought till it's done.

Can't she pop the cover off the passenger door lock then reach into the centre console & lock it with the button. Unlock it with the key when returning & repeat the procedure. It's a faff but worked on the goona I had till I fixed the card.

Im not too sure what shes tried so far although she did mention something about unlocking it with the key in the passenger door then climbing across. I did wonder if something was wrong with the actual door locks themselves but she was a bit vague with the details so this was the cheapest thing I coukd think of to try first of all.

It was dark and cold and fiddling with one old Renner in this weather this week was enough for me!

I had one of these a couple of years ago and the same thing happened, I just used to leave it unlocked but sadly nobody bothered to pinch it

This doesn't seem to work with Méganes in my experience (or Vel Shatises), as the button won't lock the doors with a door open.  Works fine with Laguna IIs though.

The Corsa locks with the door open using the old fashioned 'hold the handle up and push down the button'. I have licked the keys in the car doing this several times and once I did it at the station with the keys in the ignition. I had to get my wife to visit the car with the soare keys and then meet me again in tje evening to hand them over again. She wasnt pleased.
