Well what a night!!

Started off at 4pm when we set off from Near Dudley to find Chris Six-cylinder's abode..

All went well M5 M42 and M40 all played ball...came off at Junction 10...found our alleged right turn to head to Six-cylinder towers....then followed 45 minutes of cross field rallying, several phone calls to a highly amused Chris..first to be told we were about 5 miles away - the 2nd to be told we were even further :o

so several 90degree bends and country lanes later we finally arrived at out destination, after upsetting a farmer and plenty of Locals..

Our mission...Collect the PINK SKODA!!

Tea was consumed, as well as a cheeky shortbread (Many thanks Mrs Chris)..then off to look at my prize....it was cold, she looked forelorn - BUT she soon purred into life and sounded non tractor like, so the deal was done...And was even added to by a set of Glow PLugs - brand new ones at that....

so we bid our farewells, we set off - me in the pink beast, my friend piloting my Fiesta...set off in search of the M40, and following Instructions we discovered a Much quicker way to chez 6 if we ever need to darken his doorstep again..

The Skoda pullled well, could see no smoke trail behind, and apart from a general feel of a pot of porridge about the gear box we set off along the M40 and I must admit at 70Mph its quieter than my 2003 fiesta 1.4 petrol..feels nicely weighted in the steering etc, and even though its a non turbo still have oomph enough left to pass traffic safely..

The M40 was soon despatched, as was the M42 and M5..and so onto normal roads..handles impeccable, brakes are a tad spongy but no doubt thats the difference after driving my Fiesta..All in all the journey was stress free and surprisingly comfy , even had a foot rest at the side of the clutch..Un heard of on small cars..

Overal I have more leg room and head room than the fiesta..it apears to dislike driniking Diesel as the fuel gauge barely moved on the Journey home..

1 minor gripe is that the thermostat apears to be missing, as the temp creeps up when left idling but sinks back to the bottom of the scale as soom as you start moving..

No piccies I'm afraid, but I will try and add some tomorrow during its bath and hoover out..and if dry I will even throw some Red colour polish at it :)

So all in all a quite interesting night to go and collect a Lowly Skoda..
