Great to know it's gone to a good home, and that the funds will be used for worthy causes!

Nice work Bickle! How is the shipping cost at the moment? I'm presuming the lowish oil price and the weak pound must be having some effect on that?

Posted

V excited! And yeah, how much is shipping these days...

Cheaper. Best quote last round -from a reputable company that I highly recommend was £990.They've offered at £890, but I think I'll be bettering that. All seem to 'want' the biz- whereas last time it took 6months to get the Bellett on the boat!However- might containerise- bidding on a similar 310 (2 seater) and a late 50's Holden (57Chev look-alike). All do seem cheap -at the mo!!

However- might containerise

He comes your latest consignment of UTE sir...

These ships dont go anywhere near Somalia do they? Imagine having to pay a million to get your old datsun back!

So what's the difference between the 2 Utes & why sell one for the other? Was your old one worth more nicker because it was rarer / in nicer condition / or something else?

Posted

Old one sold £6250. New one cost £760(may vary with Exchange rates). Add £1,300 shipping/tax- say total £2,100 here. £200 to sort, MOT,register etc. Leaves around £3950 for more toys.310 looks to be around £450. Holden looks to be £1,000ish.Add shipping & costs for all 3 (in a container) still leaves sufficient for a 2 series saloon in USA (incshipping)-if it happens .Simples, yes?Oh-and its a year older- maybe 2.Positive bonus, in this field.

Result - I thought it was for sale for less? 8)

Ebay start prive was £3995. All these clever sods just sat and watched. Ended withover 400 watchers(& there are 37 watching NOW!). No one bid- but 4 people wanted to buy it after. So I ran a 'Bickle' auction-and that was the final price. Sold to the nice man in Belgium -who had to collect by the end of May or it went to the nice man in Arizona, who offered £6200. The other 2 (inc 1 Brit) dropped out in the high 5's.

Good stuff, sometimes car sales do go right!

Fits where? (Sorry, first day at work after a 4-day weekend so I'm a bit slow....)

Nice-but the price...Got a bellett,anyway.. Should even return to the road this summer

Well done, nifty deal - wish I had the balls to import something, nevermind something that rare over here.

Funnily enough- £ seems comparatively strong, there. Containers have dropped 20%( n price!)-and are now immediately avaialble, and folks seem happy to 'negotiate'. Must be grim there - too.Yanks however- completely different story at pres, so I presume they cant be hurting-yet.Happy days
