A Burning Question About Ford Transits

Wow ten years ! Hardly an epic .

Was a 2002, we bought it 2007 for 4K used it until the newer one turned up cheap in 2017.

Sold it for just under 1K, 168,000 miles. Many with a trailer on and fully loaded.

It's still going strong, had a bit of welding on the spring hanger, body excellent condition.

Still miss it. Photo is when we sold it.

What kind of van is this? I can't tell, other than that it's not a Turkish Transit because the copper is looking straight at it without vomiting.

It appears I might have been worrying for nothing.  A bloke has been arrested for arson!  One of the vans even made the local paper's website: lovely night pic of the fire brigade at work dealing with it.  I did speak to the supplying dealership and they found no recalls that apply to this model, no TSBs, not a word.  Clearly it's not something that had been brought to their attention before.

Thank you everyone.

Smiley transits are still one of the best things to drive sideways, the new ones aren't nearly as fun ( especially as a lot are girl wheel drive ).

1980's CF vans for maximum Ari Vatanen poor impressions.
