Sorry, I’d be way more tempted by that Opel – wish I was in a position to chuck an offer in on it. I’d dearly love a ‘70s Rekord/Commodore/Manta/Ascona, all of them have such clean styling.

There's a lot to like in a big 70's GM barge. Commodore for me every time - but then I've never been in a Herald. Did it have any MOT left?

I must say the Commodore was a lovely old thing, and well worth the £695 IMHO but it was an Auto which Mrs Trigger can't drive and she also said it was an ugly car! and as she has to drive it that rules it out, Oh and the Vitesse had MOT and Tax until March next year.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if you could get that Commodore for about £400 as he said he doesn't care what he gets for it due to the profit he made on another.

 

It's also had my eye on this early 1963 Vitesse 6 HERE but have heard that they aren't all that good?

 

 

Maybe i should just keep my eyes open for something more 70's like a Manta? God i hate buying cars!

Sorry misread that, According to the advert on ebay MOT until June and Tax until July so it's only short.

The only problem with the early Vitesse is that the 1600cc engine is less gutsy (but still drinks fuel quite briskly) and the rear suspension is a tad lethal if you start getting silly with it (wheel tuck, nasty). Still a fabulous looking AND sounding machine.
