Complete focus tdci 1.8 GHIA FOR SPARES

Hi, would there be any interest in a 52 plate , focus mk1 1.8 tdci Ghia 5 door hatch in black . No mot , intermittent starting problem but engine is sweet once running . This used to be the father in laws car so it didn't do many long journeys or high speeds so probably choked to fk .he said it sometimes would lose power and gauges at 60 to 65 mph , but if you turn it off turn it on again it was fine ???? ! Also I think the nsf top mount has gone as it makes a racket when turning . Not being into diesels I haven't got round to doing anything with it . all bodywork seems good but scratched , ghia velour/dragon interior clean non smoking but tired , 6000e ? Stereo , ice cold air con , reversing sensors etc etc .

I'd frag it to be honest. Sounds like pump failure. Might return you £60-80 if the breaker fetches it. A good ones worth £5-600 so something with issues is a scrapyard candidate.

Yeah I was thinking more along the lines of if anyone wants anything off it before it gets bridged . I was looking at driving it too the local bridge until I tried moving it and the top mount was playing tunes on the spring

The speedo failure is the gearbox speed sensor which does cause the ECU to fart

I had heard it was a sensor but the expert at ford main dealer said it wasn't that one and wanted a fortune to do it ! So that didn't happen cheers anyway

More likely he didn't fancy trying to get the roll pin out of the blind hole it's in to replace the sensor

Or facing it having bust off clean in the housing. A god awful bit of design.

Don't suppose it has a set of roof racks by any chance? My Father-in-law has one of these and is looking for either a roof rack or towbar to transport their two kayaks to the sea with.
