New Old Stock Jap Car Parts

This is UmBongo's mum imploring you to help him out.

He cannot sleep properly at the mo and was unable to finish his breakfast Weetabix yesterday.

He is very stressed out because he cannot find parts for his old clunker, a Silvia S12.

Can any of you chaps recommend a company that may be able to help out with parts for his car?

Even fairly basic items like drop links and so on are difficult to locate.

Rock Auto in America use to be good. There's a fair bit of cross over with s13 and 14 200sx (240sx in the us) but it's hit and miss. Nissan use to have a few bits and pieces but they're probably long gone too; IIRC I got one of the last pairs of genuine handbrake cables ten years ago.

There's a small section in the SXOC and Club s12 in America. Years ago you had the ZXOC and the Silvia club (who's www I forget right now) but they're long gone. S12s are a nightmare for suspension and chassis, which is why I sacked mine off. They occupy that arkward middle ground between bona-fide classic and the popular 90s Jap/Turbo/Gran Turismo scene.

I too would say Rock Auto and agree with Rusty Sills (and yourself!) you don't seem to be able to get anything for them.

Dare I say it, but try the Facebook groups? There's a Datsun Club UK one, which also contains a lot of Nissan action.

Oh and let's see it, too! Here's mine, 10 years ago almost!

Another one with those rear lights. I'm pretty sure UK models had boring, linear affairs. Are they JDM spec?

American. Not sure what they had in Japan.

Nice. I take it you sold it on?

Yeah I was a prick and had to make loads of changes to it (the tail lights was just the start). Eventually sold it on as an unfinished project. Needed front wishbones and couldn't find any anywhere.
